A laptop, a PC and a video game console can all let you play some of the best new games out there. So which one is right for you? Here’s a quick guide to match your usage to the right device for you.
A Gaming Laptop Is Right For You If…
-You travel a lot and want to play games wherever you go
-You want a single device that takes care of your work and play requirements, while remaining portable.
-Money or budget isn’t the focal point of your buying decision, what matters is the device’s ability to satisfy your needs.
-You have space constraints, or have young children or pets who can’t be exposed to the open wiring of other systems.
-You like video games, but you aren’t a hardcore gamer who will need the best graphics and the latest games as soon as they come out.
A Gaming PC Is Right For You If…
-You largely use your computer in one place, using either a separate work computer in the office/college or working from home. Needing a portable PC is rare for you.
-You have the room for a good desktop unit.
-You are budget conscious, and need something that fits both your productivity needs as well as your play needs without blowing a lot of cash. PC games also usually cost far lesser than the same game on a video game console.
-You aren’t particular about getting the latest game on the day it releases; several AAA titles either come to PC late or not at all.
-You care about getting top-of-the-line performance, and are willing to upgrade your computer several times through the course of its life.
A Video Game Console Is Right For You If…
-You are not looking for a productivity solution, you are looking for a device that caters to your entertainment needs—specifically, gaming and watching movies.
-You care about getting the latest games as soon as they are released. Consoles have several exclusive games, or get them before the PC version comes out.
-You aren’t sharing a TV (or whichever screen you will connect a console to) with someone in your house. You don’t want to be stuck waiting while someone wants to watch the latest episode of Game Of Thrones or Bigg Boss.
-You like motion gaming and like playing casual games with multiple players in your house.
Not all of these requirements are mutually exclusive, but they should give you a better idea of which device better fits your usage.
