Altec Lansing launches ‘Everything Proof’ speakers; eyes #MakeinIndia

Priced between Rs 3,000 and Rs 14,000, Altec Lansing speakers are compatible with all Bluetooth enabled devices.

Personal audio brand Altec Lansing has made a come to the Indian market with its new range of Everything Proof Bluetooth speakers. The brand has partnered with Trade Bazaar Hometech Ventures LLP, a Konark group company to sell in the country. The new range of 12 speakers includes Mini H2O, Mini Lifejacket 2 speaker and Lifejacket 2 speakers. The company claims that their products are “dustproof, sand proof, shockproof, snow proof, waterproof and everything proof.”

“The quality of Altec Lansing speakers are well known in the market. The new series ensures that our customers can carry their speaker to wherever they want to. These rugged speakers are build for any type of scenario,” said Manav Tandon, Partner- Trade Bazaar Hometech Ventures LLP.

Priced between Rs 3,000 and Rs 14,000, the speakers are compatible with all Bluetooth enabled devices including Apple and Blackberry. The new offerings will be available in the first week after launch only on Flipkart, subsequently on all leading online portals, large format stores and various retail outlets.

The company is also looking forward to manufacture their products locally in future. “We would be looking at our numbers first. If we are satisfied with the response from the market, we would be making in India within a span of two years,” said Tandon.

When asked if Altec Lansing would be merely assembling their products locally, Tandon replied, “We would procure some of the components from local suppliers. Also, we would be looking at exporting these made in India products,” said Shonit Dalmia, Partner- Trade Bazaar Hometech Ventures LLP.

The company intends to invest around Rs 100 crore for domestic manufacturing.
