From shortlisting candidates to interviews: How Generative AI will reshape hiring across industries

As part of the business AI demo, the SuccessFactors engineering and product management team showcased some use cases of Joule, SAP’s AI copilot, where generative AI can help hiring managers create specific job profiles for a specific role with just simple inputs like skills required for the job.

SAP also emphasised the fact that generative AI can shortlist candidates based solely on facts, without any personal bias.

For example, for the role of an AI engineer, one needs to have experiences like machine learning and natural language processing, which are already available within the SuccessFactors skills library. With a simple prompt, Joule AI-assistant, powered by Azure Open AI LLM can enhance the content to increase the visibility of the job opening.

The hiring manager can then take the job description as input and ask Joule to generate interview questions, which will be general high-level questions. Managers can also add their own validations to these inputs. The company was also very specific that the program does not use the resume of the person due to data privacy requirements.

Once joined, the AI-enabled SuccessFactors can be used to update profiles, like adding pronouns, requesting feedback, and based on the topic, Joule can suggest questions to the user.
