On what proved to be a night packed with surprises, the WWE Universe were in for a treat after it was announced a few days ago that current WWE RAW General Manger Kurt Angle will compete inside a ring for the first time in 11 years. Owing to an illness to Shield’s “Big Dawg” Roman Reigns, Angle joined forces with RAW tag-team champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on the team of Interncontinental Champion The Miz, The Bar (Cesaro & Seamus), Braun Strowman and Kane in a 5-on-3 handicap Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

With five people in the team, Miz’s team took an early advantage, throwing Angle completely off his game. But unfortunately for the Miz, their most dominant threat Strowman became their Achilles heel, as he got into a tiff with Kane in the middle of the match, and started attacking his own team-mates. Seeing no other options, Miz, along with Kane and The Bar got rid of Strowman, locked him up inside a garbage truck and sent him away.

But the 4-on-2 advantage was not enough for Miz’s team as four-time WWE Champion Angle took out the Bar with a couple of Angle slams. The duo of Rollins and Ambrose took out the “Big Red Monster” Kane with a double spear through the barricade. As Miz wreslted on the ring with Angle, the Olympic Gold Medalist survived a Skull Crushing Finale with a two-count. The other members of the Shield returned to the ring to Angle’s aid, and a triple power bomb to Miz ended his resistance. Angle went down for a pinfall and three counts later, the “honourary” member of Shield gave them victory against all odds.

In another impromptu set-up, Smackdown’s Live A J Styles was called on to take on demon Finn Balor, replacing “eater of worlds” Bray Wyatt, after he was reported to be ill. In what was a dream match for fans, pitting former “Bullet Club” members against each other, the demon king slayed the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, in an epic thriller.
