WWE SummerSlam 2021 Results: John Cena was back to headline SummerSlam at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada where he took on Roman Reigns for the Universal championship. But the Tribal chief hit two Superman punches and a spear on the former WWE Champion to score the pinfall and retain his title. However, after the victory, Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE, confronting Reigns and forcing the champ to walk out of the ring along with Paul Heyman.
However, after Summerslam went off the air, Lesnar destroyed John Cena. This was after The Beast Incarnate took Cena for a ride to Suplex City in a dark segment.
Becky Lynch def. Bianca Belair via pinfall to win the title: Becky Lynch returned to WWE at Summerslam, replacing Sasha Banks to win the Smackdown Women’s Title. Banks was a no-show at tonight’s PPV and Bianca Belair ended up defending her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Lynch, who made her return to WWE and received a huge ovation from the Las Vegas crowd. Lynch challenged Belair on the spot for a title match, which the champion accepted but the match was underwhelming as Lynch laid out Belair in less than a minute and won the title.
Edge def. Seth Rollins via submission: Edge and Seth Rollins put up the best match of the night. Both guys worked hard and had a great contest. Edge busted out a lot of his classic moves including the Edge-a-cution, the Edge-a-cator, and the Edge-o-matic. Rollins also went toe-to-toe and countered a spear into a Pedrigee. Edge eventually won with a modified crossface as Rollins tapped out.
But what also caught the attention of fans on social media was Adam Copeland back as Brood-era Edge. He got the Brood music and entrance and everything that received a massive pop in the arena.
Boos for Goldberg As Bobby Lashley Wins: Bobby Lashley defeated Goldberg by TKO after the latter was unable to continue his match due to an injury to his left knee. However, The All-Mighty continued to attack Goldberg after the fight which led to Goldberg’s son Gage enter the ring to try and save his father. But he was trapped into a hurt lock as fans cheered loudly for Lashley’s offense, and booed louder when Goldberg was in control.
Charlotte Flair def. Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley to win the title: Charlotte Flair regained the Raw Women’s title with the Figure 8 on Nikki ASH in the middle of the ring.
RK-Bro def. AJ Styles & Omos via pinfall to win the titles: RK-Bro, the team featuring Matt Riddle and Randy Orton, defeated AJ Styles and Omos to become the new RAW Tag Team Champions.
Damian Priest defeated Sheamus via pinfall to win the US title. This marks the first main roster WWE title for Damian Priest.
