Sportspersons Ravichandran Ashwin, Jwala Gutta and Srinath Narayanan have been sharing their experiences of getting stuck during the Cyclone Michaung in Chennai.
Indian cricket player Ashwin recently posted that there was no power in his locality for
more than 30 hours as well as keeping fans updated about the talks he had with senior government officials about the rescue operations.

“Have been speaking to some senior government officials and the stories they are sharing after being on the road for 3-4 days is heart wrenching to say the least,” he revealed on X.
Yesterday, he had posted, “No power in my locality for more than 30 hours too. Guess thats the case in many places. Not Sure what options we have.”

Badminton player Jwala Gutta who was rescued along with Bollywood star Aamir Khan and Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal from the floods, tweeted, “Huge huge respect to the emergency services,fire and rescue services who are working day n night to rescue people like us stranded in flooded communities.”
Meanwhile, chess GM Srinath Narayanan assured everyone that he was doing much better, posting, “Thanks to all the DM’s. I am doing relatively much much better, and safe here. Also, very grateful to
@chennaicorp and all the different government organizations and others working tirelessly to mitigate the damage. Grateful.”

Meanwhile, residents grappled with stagnant water and power disruption in parts of Chennai and its suburbs on Wednesday, two days after Michaung barrelled into the south Indian coasts, even as civic agency personnel were involved in relief and rehabilitation efforts. Another day’s holiday was declared for schools and colleges in Chennai on December 7.
Tamil Nadu has sought an interim relief of Rs 5,060 crore from the Central government against the damage it caused across the state. According to an official release, Chief Minister M K Stalin has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard and the letter will be handed over to the latter by DMK MP TR Baalu.
