Advani outplays Turki

Pankaj played well in the first frame with a break of 54. But the second frame was scrappy.

Pankaj Advani of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board outclassed Sumesh Turki of Jammu & Kashmir 3-0 in his third Group stage match of the Billiards and Snooker Nationals in Lucknow on Monday.

Pankaj played well in the first frame with a break of 54. But the second frame was scrappy. In the end Pankaj got one opportunity and cleared the frame with a score of 71.

In the third frame Pankaj was again in his element, constructed a century break of 102. He won 3-0. This is Pankaj’s second century break in three matches.

In the other action, Faisal Khan of Railways outplayed Punjab’s Sahil Nayyar, a qualifier, 3-1. Top seed Manan Chandra of PSPB showed no mercy as he defeated Vinod Kerkar of Goa 3-0. On another table, Uttar Pradesh’s Akshay Kumar had to struggle to oust Shivam Arora 3-2.

In some other Group stage matches, PSPB’s Alok Kumar knocked out Bihar’s Manish Singh 3-0, Manish Jain of West Bengal beat Vijay Nichani of Tamil Nadu 3-0, Hasan Badami of Maharashtra brushed aside the challenge of Rajat Khaneja of Chandigarh 3-0, while S Dilip Kumar of Railways defeated Sarwesh Kolwalkar of Goa 3-0.
