After Lucknow Super Giants’ previous Indian Premier League game at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium, where LSG had suffered an eight-wicket defeat to the Punjab Kings, Zaheer Khan had shone the spotlight in the 22-yard strip in his press conference.
“Was a little disappointing for me. Considering it’s a home game and in IPL you’ve seen how teams have looked at taking a little bit of home advantage, from that point of view you’ve seen the curator is not really thinking that it’s a home game. I think maybe it looked like, you know, it was Punjab curator out here,” LSG’s Zaheer said at the press conference. “So that’s something which we will figure. It’s a new set-up also for me, but I hope that this is the first and the last game when it comes to that. Because you are disappointing the Lucknow fans as well.”
Zaheer had become the latest team official to grumble about the state of home pitches after Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane and CSK’s Stephen Fleming.

The Lucknow pitch has traditionally been known to be on the slower side. The red soil strip presents plenty of help for the spinners. Expect whichever team wins the toss to bowl first on Friday and chase a target.
Accuweather predicts Friday to be a sweltering hot day in Lucknow. Temperatures in the Uttar Pradesh city are expected to reach a high of 38 degree Celsius. The temperature at the start of the match is expected to be around 33 degrees. As the match progresses, the temperature is expected to drop a bit.
There are close to no chances of the game being interrupted by rains.
