India’s first match in the Super 4s turned out to be shift from what they faced in the other matches. South Korea came with a defensive mindset and executed their plan to perfection for most of the match. They also weren’t shy of making attacking runs of their and it was one such moment that led to their goal. India kept pushing and Korea’s defence broke in the last minute with Gurjant Singh scoring the equaliser.

1830 hrs IST: GOAL! Gurjant Singh equalises, less than a minute remaining
1825 hrs IST: Korea are now firmly stationed in their half. So much so that the Indian goalkeeper is playing practically as an outfield player
1810 hrs IST: India are looking unsure of themselves for the first time in the tournament. Korea are staunchly defending their post and attacking whenever they get their chance. India putting everything they have
1757 hrs IST: GOAL! South Korea score and India are trailing! Jungjun Lee is the man who gets stick to the ball the final time before it hits the net. India have been simply unable to break the Korean defence and have recently been put under increasing pressure, this goal has been coming.
1743 hrs IST: At the end of the first half, India and South Korea remain tied on level, and goalless, terms. Both teams have had their moments, India more so than South Korea but the latter’s solid defence have kept them out.
1736 hrs IST: Despite the flurry of attacks in the beginning, Korea’s solid defence held the Indians back. Korea then push forward but they have been unable to find that perfect touch inside the D. It has all been pretty cagey
1734 hrs IST: India have made a more aggresive start to the second quarter
1722 hrs IST: We have had a goalless first quarter. India had a chance to score towards the dying minutes when Manpreet passed it into the D, the receiver could not connect with his swing and the ball rolls away to safety for Korea
1716 hrs IST: Five minutes left in the match and it remains goalless. Not much has happened in this quarter, India haven’t been able to make too many chances, the best chance in fact came for South Korea when they when they passed the ball into the D through the center, the waiting players receives but his shot is wide
