Raphinha says Brazil will ‘beat up Argentina on and off pitch if we have to’ in World Cup qualifier

The Brazil vs Argentina game in Buenos Aires will be Raphinha's first game in Argentina since 2021 when he was elbowed in the mouth by home defender Nicolas Otamendi. That injury needed him to get five stitches.

Brazil forward Raphinha has said that the team will “beat up arch-rivals Argentina… on the pitch and off the pitch if we have to” in their highly-anticipated clash on Tuesday. The comments from the Brazil star will add further fuel to an already-testy battle on the cards as Brazil take on their South American arch-rivals with World Cup qualification on the line.

“We’ll beat them (Argentina) up… Absolutely! Beat them up! On the pitch and off the pitch if we have to,” Raphinha said in an interview with Brazilian legend Romario on “Romario TV”.
