Posed questions on FIFA, Cristiano Ronaldo storms out

Cristiano Ronaldo, a three-time FIFA Player of the Year winner, stormed out of an interview with CNN Espanol when he was asked about the growing concerns and controversy with football’s governing body. Stormed off, though, not before saying ‘this is bullshit’ and ‘I don’t give a f*ck.’

In a video-conference interview conducted by Andres Oppenheimer during Real Madrid’s US tour, the football superstar snapped at not being asked questions about a line of headphones (he was wearing it around his neck) he was promoting. Then, when the line of questioning shifted towards Qatar hosting the 2022 World Cup, Ronaldo turned hostile.

The short footage begins with Oppenheimer asking Ronaldo whether he and his team-mates ever discussed the corruption scandal. Ronaldo smiles and says: “Do you want me to be honest? It doesn’t worry me at all. I do my profession, my job, I give me all for my club . the rest doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care what happens on the outside.”

He is then asked about what he and his team-mates discuss in the dressing room. “Music, about women, about fashion, about shoes, about suitcases/bags, about jewellery, about haircuts,” Ronaldo says, still smiling. “Any more you want me to list?”

Unrelenting questions

The unrelenting journalist goes on to pose the Qatar question. And soon after hearing it, Ronaldo yanks off the unpromoted headphones from his neck and turns to the producer in his Las Vegas room.

“I can’t speak like that. This is bullshit. Speak about Fifa, I don’t care about Fifa. And Qatar . I don’t give a f*ck. What you want me to do?” Ronaldo asks. Then he points at the golden headphones and says: “Speak about product, he speaks about Fifa . Come on.”
