Iceland knockout England from the Euro 2016 after a 2-1 win in the last 16. England took an early lead but Iceland scored twice in the first half and continued to defend the lead till full time. They face France in quarters.

90′ Three minutes of added time. England need an equalisier

87′ Taurtason is in for Iceland. This is like a horror movie for England. They are unable to break the defence of Iceland who keep coming for charge

85′ England have 5 minutes to save this. Rooney is out. Rashford is in

84′ Árnason could have made it 3-1 but his shot is wide. Time running out of England’s hands

83′ Gunnarsson with a shot at goal from the right post but Hart blocks it. Corner to Iceland

78′ Harry Kane attempt is blocked. Wilshere with a cross and Kane gets the header in but no power on it. Goalkeeper collects

77′ Bjarnason in for Iceland. Sigthórsson out. First change for them

75′ England have only 15 mintues to save them. They are trying hard but Iceland are happy keeping them away. England reach the box but blocked again

72′ Kane shot, blocked! He tries to curl it from outside the box but it bangs into the defender

71′ Corner from Rooney after Vardy is tackled in the box and denied. Iceland clear the corner

68′ Wilshere with an attempt on the goal outside the box which is over the bar. This is despration from England. May be the move ahead

65′ Kane with the free-kick. He tries to fire it but that is wide. Way wide on the sides

65′ Gunnarsson is booked. His tackle on Dele Alli is bad

61′ Dier Alli with a effort on goal. He had it on his leg but moves ahead. In the end, it goes over the bar

60′ Jamie Vardy in Raheem Sterling out. England need him to score. They have no other option but to score

# the questions are looming big

55′ Corner for Iceland. Gudmundsson with the kick

54′ Jamie Vardy warming up on the sidelines. No surprise if he is on. England badly need to score. They must to stay in the competition till the extra time, atleast

50′ Kane with an free-kick attempt from the far post which is cleared by Iceland. Still the danger is not averted as England charge again. Kane header is once again blocked

47′ Struddige is booked. HE had a bad tackle from behind on Iceland’s Ari Skúlason

46′ Back underway in Nice. Wilshere is on for Dier. England are 2-1 down and have 45 minutes to overturn this. Can they?

# BREXIT FROM EUROS! (Minus Wales)

HALF TIME: England walk down the tunnel a disappointed side having taken the lead early on. Now they are 2-1 down and facing elimination by Iceland – a country with a population less than Leicester!

44′ Rooney has a shot at the stroke of half time but it is wide much to the frustration of the player and coach Roy Hodgson alike.

37′ G. Sigurdsson is booked for bringing down an England player from behind.

36′ G. Sigurdsson takes a shot from distance but it is saved comfortably by Hart. Not hit with power or in the corner to really bother the England keeper. However hints of ball swerving about that may matter at some stage given how these players have struck the ball.

35′ Iceland in dreamland all thanks to this man!

28′ CLOSE!! Kane with a perfect volley and it is tipped over by Halldórsson! That was superb play by England and a very well controlled volley by Kane to keep it down from inside the box.

23′ STAT: 3 goals in the opening 19 mins of a match is a record in the European Championships

18′ GOAL!!! ICELAND LEAD!! Sigthórsson beats the challenge of Cahill to get a shot on and it goes underneath Hart’s desperate figure. You’ve got to say that that is a keeper error. Can’t let that creep in!

16′ CLOSE! Kane goes close this time around. Another Spurs player takes the shot from outside the box now and it goes marginally over. England not sitting back after that equaliser. They’re taking this by the scruff of the neck.

15′ CLOSE!!! Alli with a superb strike from distance and it goes narrowly over. That was so sweetly struck and was destined for top corner.

8′ Superb start to the game. England’s lead lasted all of a minute!

6′ ICELAND EQUALISE! R. Sigurdsson volleys in from two yards out after being played through by Árnason with a flick on header.

4′ GOAL!! Rooney scores from the penalty spot! Sterling is brought down by the keeper and it is a penalty for England which the captain duly converts!

1′ And we’re underway in Nice!
