Lionel Messi’s retirement: Who said what on twitter

Argentina's Lionel Messi announced his retirement shortly after the conclusion of the Copa America Centenario in New York. Argentina lost the final to Chile in repeat of last year's Copa America final. Messi is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and is often compared to Argentine legend Diego Maradona. His retirement at the age of 29 from the international side is set to send shockwaves across the footballing world. The two teams remained goalless in extra time which led the match into penalty shootout. Both the teams missed out on their first attempt. It was Messi for Argentina who missed the first chance. Chile later netted their remaining four shots while Argentina had to settle with just two and lose the final for the second consecutive time in a penalty shootout at the hands of Chile. Lionel Messi didn't win any major tournaments with Argentina. Hard to know if Messi is being serious about retirement or just emotional right now.
