The first match of Indian Super League 2017 ended in a goalless draw as both Kerala Blasters and ATK were unable to find the back of the net. This was the first time that there was no winner in the opening match of Indian Super League. In front of capacity crowd, with plenty of support for hosts Kerala, ATK enjoyed most of the possession, had more shots on goal, earned more corners but just weren’t able to open their account.
The first match of the tournament was preceded by an opening ceremony where Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif performed to their popular numbers. Salman made a grand entrance on a bicycle before setting the stage on fire. After the performances, he quizzed Kerala Blasters co-owners Sachin Tendulkar, entertained the crowd and stood with the two teams for India’s national anthem.
