The Jordan goalkeeper Amer Shafi scored the first goal of the match after Gurpreet Singh Sandhu failed to judge a long ball coming from the other end of the pitch. Ehsan Haddad doubled the lead for Jordan in the opening minutes of the second half. For India, the only goal came from debutant Nishu Kumar as he blasted a shot inside the Jordan goalpost from close range.
