After the 3-0 thrashing by Brazil on Saturday, Haiti officially became the first team to be eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Haiti lost 1-0 in their opening match against Scotland and after the defeat against Brazil, they are on 0 points from 2 matches. They play their last match against Morocco and even if they pull off an upset, they can only reach a maximum of 3 points which wouldn’t be enough for them to qualify as a best third placed team as well.

In the match, Brazil forward Matheus Cunha rewarded manager Carlo Ancelotti’s backing with his first two goals at a World Cup as the five-times champions cruised to a 3-0 victory over Haiti.
