Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who is facing tremendous media pressure over his lack of form in the ongoing Euro 2016, vented his frustration at a television reporter by snatching the latter’s microphone before throwing it into a lake.
The Real Madrid superstar appeared to reach boiling point when the reporter asked him if he was ready for their next game against Hungary, the Guardian reported.
Portugal, which played out two draws against Iceland and Austria, must defeat Hungary on Wednesday in order to secure their berth in the last-16 round of the European Championship.
Ronaldo has so far endured a difficult campaign in Euro 2016 with Portugal scoring only once from 18 shots on target in the competition.
He came under severe criticism for his comments about Iceland’s ‘small mentality’ after their draw in the opening game. He also received online jibes after missing his penalty against Austria.
