Leicester City have once again wielded the axe and brought it down on their manager with Craig Shakespeare seeing the exit door this time. Last season, Claudio Ranieri was removed from his job at the helm of the club following a poor start to the English Premier League campaign. Leicester are currently third from bottom with six points from eight games. They haven’t won any of their past six league matches.
Shakespeare was appointed as caretaker manager at Leicester City last season from Italian Ranieri. He kept the club safe to stay in the top division and had signed a three-year deal just four months back to become the permanent manager at the Foxes.
Shakespeare won eight of his 16 games last season, and led the club to the Champions League quarters. So far this season, in all competitions, Leicester have won three, drawn three and lost four. However, in the Premier League, the club has won just once – 2-0 victory at Brighton on August 19. Besides this, they’ve lost to Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. His departure has come after a 1-1 draw with West Brom on Monday.
