Benteke scores twice,Aston Villa beat Arsenal 3-1 at Emirates on opening day

The Gunners were relegated to 10 men after Koscielny was sent off for seeing two yellow cards.

Christian Benteke scored from two penalties Saturday as Aston Villa stunned Arsenal 3-1 at Emirates Stadium in their Premier League opener to increase the pressure on manager Arsene Wenger to spend big in the waning days of the transfer market.

Arsenal had a perfect start when Olivier Giroud scored in the sixth minute, tapping in a pinpoint cross from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from close range.

But Benteke equalized in the 22nd,heading in his own rebound after his penalty was saved by Wojciech Szczesny. The striker then slotted in a second penalty in the 61st. Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny was sent off in the 67th for a second booking and Villa hit the Gunners with a quick counter attack in the 85th,with new signing Antonio Luna securing the win by slotting a shot past Szczesny.
