(screengrab) As India took on West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad for what is the 100th Test between the two teams, Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar was felicitated by the Queen’s Park Cricket Club.
The batting maestro shared a clip of the felicitation on his social media handles where he can be seen beaming as the Queen’s Park Cricket Club members hand over a memento to him commemorating the 100th India-West Indies Test. He also shared a couple of photographs with Brian Lara, popularly nicknamed ‘The Prince of Trinidad’.
In the clip a fan is also seen serenading the Indian.

In 27 Tests against the West Indies, the Indian scored 2749 runs at an average of 65.45. This included 13 centuries and seven half-centuries. One of the most memorable knocks by Gavaskar was when he scored an unbeaten 236 against the Caribbean team, which is his highest score in Tests. While that knock came in Chennai in 1983 when the Windies were visiting, he has also scored 1404 runs in tricky West Indian conditions over 13 matches.
