Two Bangladesh players vomited on field during Delhi T20I: Report

Soumya Sarkar and an unidentified Bangladesh player fell sick during Sunday's T20I against India, according to reports. There had been a thick layer of smog in Delhi on the day of the match and there had been calls for the match to be abandoned.

India and Bangladesh played the first match of the ongoing T20 series in New Delhi on Sunday despite concerns over air pollution in the national capital, and ESPNCricinfo reports that two Bangladesh players threw up on the field during the match.

According to the report, cricketer Soumya Sarkar and an unidentified player fell sick during Sunday’s match.

After the match, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had thanked both the teams for having played the match despite the “tuff conditions”.

Ahead of the match, Bangladesh cricketers were seen practising wearing pollution masks.

“Conditions are obviously not perfect with the smog, but it’s the same for both teams. We have some scratchy eyes, maybe a little sore throat now and then, but it’s okay. Nobody is sick or anything… it’s not ideal, but we’re not going to moan about it,” Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo had said before the match.
