SRH vs CSK IPL 2026 Highlights: Sunrisers beat Chennai by 10 runs

And there's your lot. A single to finish it off and two big points for SRH. They did stumble a little bit towards the end of that match but overall, this was as clinical as it gets really from a bowling perspective for SRH. CSK got off to a strong start in the powerplay largely thanks to Ayush Mhatre but SRH just kept at them. Eshan Malinga returned 3/29, Reddy returned 2/31. Shivang Kumar continues to impress, he returned 1/18. Well, Heinrich Klaasen conceded that they were probably about 10 runs short and even then, they managed to keep CSK at bay.

SRH have jumped up to fourth with this win now, they have six points in six matches.

Reddy with the 19th over, Just three runs off the first four balls. Then Kamboj smashes the fifth ball to smithereens down the ground for a six. Reddy goes too far outside off last ball, wide called. Them Kamboj toe-ends an attempted biggie to long on. The batters run hard, the throw comes in and misses the stumps at the non-striker's end by centimetres. They take two runs off that last ball.

Overton on strike, Hinge to bowl the last over. Well, SRH have made a bit of a meal of this in the death overs.

Short's tortured stay ends with a truly incredible catch by Aniket. Malinga with a full delivery fourth ball of the 16th angling into Short, who tries to send the ball to the deep midwicket boundary. Aniket was the man there, he moves to his right and dives low to take it centimetres above the ground. Brilliant.

Brevis tries to go downtown, ends up being caught at the ropes. Incredible bowling from Shivang. Tosses up the fourth delivery of the 12th but it is not quite as full as Brevis seems to think it is. Wonderful deception there with that dip. Brevis doesn't get to the pitch of the ball, doesn't get the distance he was looking for.

What an over there from Sakib Hussain, just seven off it. CSK's run rate has fallen to 11.10 but it is still far ahead of the required rate of 8.40. Short is on 19 off 15, Sarfaraz on 25 off 16.

And thus ends the powerplay. Good progress made by CSK as far as runs go but the loss of wickets will bother them, They have two batters out there who can very much see them over the line though. Sarfaraz Khan is on four off three, he has been in good tough this season. Matthew Short can hit a mean one. He is on five off four.

13 runs came off the fourth over by Sakib Hussain. Reddy comes in for the fifth over, two twos ran off the first and second ball and it looks like the second of those does it for Ayush Mhatre. Remember, he is the Impact Sub, he was seated in the dugout throughout the SRH innings and so had to switch on all of a sudden in the humidity and heat out there after Samson fell. He goes down clutching his hamstring after running the second run off the second ball and this normally means that the batter will have to go off.

This break won't do any good to the CSK, they were going really well so far. It won't do any good for those who care about keeping time. This innings started at around 9.20pm, 40 minutes later we are two balls into the fifth over.

Well Mhatre receives treatment and he continues for now which is unbelievable. It would be really surprising if he can really do anything substsantial with a hamstring issue. How in the world could any physio worth their salt allow him to carry on.

Straight up and gone! Well, 15 runs off the first over and then a wicket off the first ball of the second. Back of a length delivery from Reddy, it got big on Samson and the ball goes up off the top edge as he went for the pull. Klaasen takes the catch.

Kamboj finishes with three wickets as well, same as Overton and the two pacers have got CSK a sub-200 target to chase. If there is dew as well, this is going to be really difficult for SRH to keep a check on.

Chopped on! Kamboj comes in from wide of the crease, Klaasen fooled into believing he has room. Tries to play this towards point but ends up dragging it on to his own stumps.

Overton keeps delivering for CSK, what a season he is having. Overton seems to have surprised NKR with the bounce here. The batter tries to hit it down the ground over long on, can't get a lot of distance on it and caught by the fielder there.

Heinrich Klaasen on 24 off 18 balls, Nitish Kumar Reddy at the other end on one off one. Overton's over ends with six off it and a wicket. Klaasen would love it if he can get into the groove, he hasn't quite been able to do that this season, certainly not compared to the standards one has come to expect of him. In fact, his strike rate in the past 2 years hasn't quite been as high as it was before that. And it has dipped more since he retired from international cricket. Perhaps international cricket isn't as useless as it is deemed to be when players abandon it while still having a few years left in their careers? Well, who can say for sure.

Jamie Overton with the big scalp again for CSK! Last ball of the eighth over was back of a length and shapes in to Abhishek. Takes a faint edge and Samson takes the catch. The umpire didn't give it initially, CSK reviewed it succesfully.

Why he felt the need to do that instead of staying put and potentially putting on a devastating partnership with Abhishek, only he knows. Wasn't quite a full toss, Kishan takes a wild swing. Mishit and Gaikwad takes the easy catch.

25 RUNS IN THE 5TH OVER! Matt Short given a third over on the trot, possibly with Abhishek in mind. Well, Abhishek has made CSK regret that decision and how. Head gets off strike first ball and Abhishek smashes the second ball back down the ground for four. The third is sent over long on again for another four. The fourth is smashed over extra cover for a third consecutive four. Exactly the same shot next ball, just better, it goes all the way for a six. Then Abhishek charges down and smashes the last ball even deeper into the crowd past extra cover for another six.

That takes him to 50 in 15 balls.

SRH 63/0 in 5 over

A fairly sedate start, by Travishek standards. Just four runs in the first over, not a single boundary. Mukesh Choudhary comes in to bowl the second, Abhishek welcomes him by smashing the first ball over extra cover for a six. Just four runs in the over after that though as Mukesh keeps Head quiet.

Simon Katich and Dale Steyn were on the pitch report today. Bowling from the VVS Laxman Pavilion end, the off-side boundary for the lefties is only 63 metres. Slightly longer out to the right, a 67-metre leg-side boundary. And then straight back down over the bowler's head, we've got 77 metres to work with. Pitch number 3, got an average first innings total of 205. We don't have to look very far, so there's not a blade of grass on this wicket. And it's incredibly hard. It's had a couple of days to recover from that last game that was played here. But it's just one of those venues where a lot of runs ... a lot of runs in store tonight again. We saw the young bowlers step up last match. What do you expect in the powerplay in a new ball situation tonight? The game plan here is to be aggressive versus aggressive. As a batting unit, you've got to go hard. But as a bowling unit, you can't go to your defence very quickly. If you're aggressive, just like the Sunrisers quicks were the other night, they managed to stumble off five wickets inside that powerplay. So you've got to play aggressive cricket against aggressive cricket. There's enough bounce. This is a red soil pitch. There's enough bounce in this deck that if you bowl in the right area, you can build up a couple of dot balls and just create a bad shot somewhere. Maybe find the edge. We see the balls going to second slip. So there's enough in it that tells me if you bend your back and you hit the deck hard, you'll get something out of it too. And what do you expect from the toss tonight? A big chase. The one thing is that CSK, they've never let Sunrisers score 200 against them. But still, it's a chasing wicket.
