Pakistan vs Australia 2nd T20 highlights

Pakistan win by 11 runs

Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed is all pumped up as they win the match by 11 runs. Australia required 23 of the final over but they could only manage 11. AUS: 136/8 (20 Overs)

WICKET: Glenn Maxwell departs for 52

WICKET! Glenn Maxwell departs for 52. Australia lose their seventh wicket as they now require 16 runs in 3 balls.

AUS: 131/6(19.1 OVERS)

First ball of the over and that's HUGE. Glenn Maxwell smashes a six in the first ball.

AUS: 125/6 (19 OVER)

Slow delivery and it gets the treatment it deserved. Coulter Nile smashes a six as Australia now require 23 runs in 6 balls.

50 UP for Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell completes his half-century in 33 balls. Australia are currently batting at 115/6 at the end of 18th over.

AUS: 106/6 (17.2 OVERS)

Shaheen Afridi is brought back into the attack as Australia need another 43 runs to win in 16 deliveries.

AUS: 98/6 (16.2 Overs)

Outside edge and the ball travels to the boundary rope. Australia now need 51 runs in 22 deliveries.

Coulter Nile survives

That was lucky as Coulter Nile misses and the ball goes and hits the stump but the bails refuse to tumble. Sarfraz Ahmed raises his arm in delight as Pakistani fielders on the pitch appeal for caught behind. TV umpires confirm that the ball actually nicked the stump and not the bat.

WICKET! Ben McDermott run-out for 3

Australia have lost their sixth wicket in the form of Ben McDermott. He departs for 3 as Australia are currently batting on 73 for the loss of six wickets in 13.5 overs.

WICKET! Chris Lynn departs for 7

After smashing a huge six in the previous over, the dangerous Chris Lynn departs for 7.

WICKET! D Arcy Short out for 2

What a blow to Australia early in the innings as they lose D Arcy Short in the last ball of the third over. Short has been given run-out by the TV umpire as Aaron Finch believes his partner was not out and the bat was on the ground when the ball hit the stumps. However, the benefit of doubt goes in the favour of Pakistan.

D Arcy Short and Aaron Finch are out in the middle to open the Australian innings. They require 148 runs in 20 overs.

PAK 147/6 (20)

Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim score 15 runs in the final over of the innings as Pakistan reach 147 for the loss of six wickets.

Coulter Nile strikes TWICE

Two wickets in two deliveries. Coulter Nile dismisses Shoaib Malik and Hasan Ali in the same over as Pakistan reach 132 at the end of 19th over.

GONE! Babar Azam c Finch b D Arcy Short 45(44)

Wrong-un from Short foxes Babar Azam who goes for the big hit and is caught at long-off. A key breakthrough for the Aussies. Will this be the turning point? PAK- 106/3

100 up

A single of Zampa and 100 comes up for Pakistan. They need to get a move on from hereon.

OUT! Hafeez c D Arcy Short b Stanlake 40(34)

Another six towards fine leg by Hafeez and a pull shot thereafter and Hafeez (40) hits it straight to D Arcy Short at deep square-leg. Stanlake gets his man! PAK- 99/2, 14 ovs

Halfway Stage

10 overs gone and Pakistan are 69/1. It has been a steady start for the hosts. Hafeez has been in good knick, occasionally taking the attack to the bowlers. Australia, however, wont be too worried as a collapse may well be round the corner.

First one of the match. Hafeez has decided to attack Zampa and dances down the track and lofts the ball over long over long-off for a huge maximum. Big over for Pakistan. PAK- 59/1, 8 ovs

50 comes up

Powerplay Ends

Pakistan are in command as the powerplay comes to an end. Only one casualty so far in the form of Fakhar Zaman. Hafeez and Babar Azam are currently in good touch. PAK- 46/1, 6 ovs

Successive boundaries

Mohammad Hafeez spanks two fours. First one is past backward point while the next one is towards square leg. PAK- 40/1, 5 ovs

GONE! Fakhar Zaman c Carey b Coulter-Nile 11(12)

DRS REVIEW! Australia goes upstairs for a faint knick. And it is a terrific call. Ultra-edge confirms a faint touch. OUT! Zaman is out 11. PAK- 29/1

Billy Stanlake's average speed in T20 international matches this year is 143.39kph, making him the fastest bowler in the world in this format.

Steady Start

Pakistan are off to a steady start. Apart from a close run-out chance in the first over, there haven't been any hiccups. The pitch also seems good for strokeplay. PAK- 22/0, 3 ovs

First boundary of the innings from the bat of Babar Azam. Full and outside the off from Coulter-Nile and Azam leans into the drive and its through the covers for a four. PAK- 10/0

Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam are in the middle. Azam takes guard. For Australia Maxwell will open the attack. One over bowled and Pakistan are- 6/0

Pakistan vs Australia 2nd T20 highlights: Australia thought that they had matters in control when they managed to restrict Pakistan to 155. What followed, though, was what Aaron Finch described as a car-crash. Imad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf ensured that Australia pick up the dubious record of losing their first six wickets in the powerplay over twice in international T20s.
