Pakistan vs Australia (PAK vs AUS) 1st Test: After David Warner ruled the proceedings on Day 2 of the opening Test between Australia and Pakistan, it was Marnus Labuschagne’s turn to shine with the bat and inflict further damage on the visitors. The batsman went on to complete his maiden Test century, added 50 more to his tally but fell short by 15 runs from converting it into a double ton.

Riding on the incredible batting show by their batsmen, Australia posted a gigantic 580 in response to Pakistan’s 240.

Trailing by 340 runs, the visitors started on a dreadful note as speedster Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins rocked the Pakistani top-order. However, Babar Azam and Shan Masood stabilise things after the early blows as the duo added 39 for the fourth wicket. The visitors are currently batting on 64/3 and are still trailing by 276 runs.

After piling 580 on the board, the Oz pace-battery spearheaded by Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins dismantled the Pakistan top-order, pushing the visitors on the backfoot. Babar Azam and opener Shan Masood, however, tried to restabilise the Pakistani innings as the pair added 39 for the fourth wicket. Babar is playing on 20, while his partner is batting on 27. PAK: 64/3 | trail by 276 runs

It all depends on Babar Azam now!

It all depends on Babar Azam now as the 25-year-old along with Shan Masood gets Pakistan past the 50-run mark.  Babar is batting on 10, while his partner is on 22. PAK: 51/3 | trail by 289 runs

    12:15 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Another one bites the dust!

Another one bites the dust and Pat Cummins joins the party. It was literally an unplayable delivery, perfect length just above the off-stump, and it takes the outside edge of Asad Shafiq and flew straight to Steve Smith at second slip. PAK: 25/3 | trail by 315 runs

    12:06 (IST)23 Nov 2019

Mitchell Starc is on fire as he sends Haris Sohail packing on 8. With his departure, Pakistan are now reduced to 25/2 and are currently trailing by 315 runs. The ball was pitched short outside off and Sohail tried to poke it down the offside but ends up nicking it back to Tim Paine behind the stumps. He is not at all happy with this shot but can do nothing about it. PAK: 25/2 | trail by 315 runs

    11:50 (IST)23 Nov 2019

    11:11 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Imran Khan strikes finally

Imran Khan gets his first wicket of the match. Pat Cummins edges it to Mohammad Rizwan and departs after scoring just 7 runs. Tim Paine is not declaring yet. He wants as many runs possible on the board. AUS - 567/9

    11:03 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Another wicket

Yasir Shah gets his third wicket of the match. Mitchell Starc reviews the lbw decision but it does not go his way. Starc departs for 5. Nathan Lyon walks in to bat. AUS - 559/8

    10:51 (IST)23 Nov 2019
Labuschagne misses out on double ton

Marnus Labuschagne misses out on his maiden double century by 15 runs. Labuschagne lost concentration as he was in a hurry to score runs. Shaheen Afridi gets his second wicket. AUS - 546/7

    10:48 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Paine falls

Tim Paine disappoints yet again. Shaheen Afridi comes round the wicket and an inside edge off his bat carries to the slip cordon after hitting his body. AUS - 545/6

    10:36 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    300-run lead

The third session is underway. Marnus Labuschagne continues to dominate as he hits Shaheen Afridi for back-to-back boundaries. Pakistan are playing the waiting game. Tim Paine is likely to declare the innings once the lead nears 400. A golden chance for Marnus Labuschagne to convert his maiden Test century into a double. AUS - 541/5

    10:20 (IST)23 Nov 2019

Time for Tea at The Gabba as Marnus Labuschagne and Tim Paine take Australia's total to 532/5. The hosts have now extended their lead to 292 runs. The hosts are in control and Pakistan have to put up a brilliant fight in order to save the match.

    09:55 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Too late to recover!

It's too late for Pakistan now as Australia won't mind the dismissal of Travis Head. The batsman departs after adding a quick 29 off 29 balls. However, Mohammad Rizwan does deserve the credit for the dismissal as he slides down to his left off Haris Sohail's delivery by taking a sharp catch at the end. AUS: 506/5 | lead by 266 runs

    09:41 (IST)23 Nov 2019
Marnus Labuschagne is not in a mood to stop!

Marnus Labuschagne is not in a mood to stop as the batsman completes his 150. He is the second Aussie to complete the milestone in this innings. He is greeted by a huge round of applause, but it will definitely get much louder if he adds another 50 to his tally. AUS: 492/4 | lead by 252 runs

    09:29 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Lucky breakthrough for Pakistan!

Lucky breakthrough for Pakistan as Matthew Wade knicks the ball, which hits Mohammad Rizwan on his thighs and then rises in the air, making it simple for the wicketkeeper to complete the catch. He departs after scoring 60. AUS: 468/4 | lead by 228 runs

    09:02 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Matthew Wade slams 50!

A back of a length delivery by Shaheen Afridi and Matthew Wade nudges the ball towards the mid-wicket area for a single to complete his fifth half-century in Test cricket. Apart from Steve Smith, all of Australia's top five have scored fifties in this innings. AUS: 451/3 | lead by 211 runs

    08:40 (IST)23 Nov 2019
What has hurt Pakistan the most?

What has hurt Pakistan the most in this match are the partnerships. The visitors have not been able to capitalise after getting a breakthrough, giving enough time to the new batsman to settle down. After Warner-Burns, Warner-Labuschagne, this 62-run-stand between Labuschagne and Wade is making matters worse for the visitors. Meanwhile, the duo has helped Australia extend the lead by 180 runs. AUS: 420/3

    08:22 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    400 up for AUS!

Labuschagne paddle sweeps Iftikhar Ahmed for a single and with this Australia bring up their 400. They now have a lead of 160 runs as Pakistan are desperately looking for wickets.

    08:11 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Action resumes!

The players have returned to the pitch to resume the action at The Gabba. Marnus Labuschagne will be on strike as Haris Sohail will bowl the first over of the second session.

    07:35 (IST)23 Nov 2019

It was a much better display by the visitors in the opening session on Day 3 as they removed David Warner and Steve Smith in quick succession before they could inflict further damage on them. For Australia, the bright side was Marnus Labuschagne's maiden Test century and he is still present at the crease. He is batting on 102, and his partner Matthew Wade is batting on 29. AUS: 395/3 | lead by 155 runs

    07:07 (IST)23 Nov 2019
Marnus Labuschagne scores maiden Test century!

Marnus Labuschagne gets a thick outside edge and the ball runs away for a boundary and he won't mind it as long it keeps coming. With this boundary, the right-handed also edge past the 100-run mark for the first time in Test cricket and he's enjoying it as he fist bumps the air and raises his bat towards the dressing room. What a find he has been for Australia!   AUS: 374/3 | lead by 134 runs

    06:55 (IST)23 Nov 2019
    Danger man Steve Smith departs!

Pakistan strike again and Yasir Shah is rewarded for his excellent bowling since the start of Day 3 as he removes the danger man Steve Smith. A tossed up delivery and Smith tries to play it across the line, leaving a huge gap between his pads and the bat. He is beaten by the spin as the ball goes and hits the off-stumps. He departs after scoring 4. AUS: 358/3 | lead by 118 runs

    06:37 (IST)23 Nov 2019
Maiden Test wicket for Naseem Shah!

Naseem Shah gets his maiden Test wicket and he's dismissed David Warner for the second time in this match and thankfully this time his foot was inside the line. It was short delivery, with the ball coming towards Warner and he tries to leave the ball, but unfortunate for the batsman as it clips the bottom-edge on its way and goes straight to the wicketkeeper. Waner departs after scoring a brilliant 154. AUS: 351/2 | lead by 111 runs
