New Zealand vs England (NZ vs ENG) 1st T20I Highlights: England outclassed New Zealand beating them by seven wickets with nine balls to spare. Chasing a target of 154, England openers got off to a slow start. Jonny Bairstow broke the shackles taking on Scott Kuggeleijn. But Mitchell Santner got the breakthrough removing Dawid Malan. No.3 batsman James Vince led the run chase hitting his maiden T20I half-century. Santner was the pick of the bowlers taking three wickets including Bairstow and Malan. Towards the end, skipper Eoin Morgan and vice-captain Sam Billings ensured that England chase down the total without breaking a sweat.

Earlier England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bowl first. New Zealand got off to a poor start as they failed to capitalise in the powerplay overs. Martin Guptill got out after scoring just 2 runs to debutant Sam Curran whereas Colin Munro fell for 21 to Chris Jordan. New Zealand kept losing wickets at regular intervals and failed to post a huge total on the board. Tim Siefert and Colin de Grandhomme got starts but could not convert them into big totals. The fifth-wicket partnership between Ross Taylor and Daryl Mitchell helped the Kiwis post a modest total of 153 for 5 in the first innings.
