Needing a win to progress into the final, India get the job done with a 5-wicket win over Sri Lanka with four balls to spare. The balls left may show a neck-and-neck game but it wasn’t. After early blip, Virat Kohli’s 56 unbeaten ensured India got past the winning line with ease. Yuvraj Singh with a swift knock of 35 as well. Earlier Sri Lanka could only muster 138 with a few highs and lows during their inning. Lankans possibly needed a Kohli amongst their ranks but didn’t have one. With the loss, Sri Lanka rely on the other teams to decide their fate for the final on Sunday.

Towards the end of India’s net session on Monday, R Ashwin became intent on practicing his leg-breaks and googlies. A conventional off-spinner, he uses these variations occasionally to out think batsmen. The Tamil Nadu offie has been magnificent of late, contributing immensely to India’s recent run of T20 victories.

This was a match of many moods and fluctuating emotions. Eventually a packed Sher-e-Bangla Stadium went on a celebration overdrive.
