By far one of the most balanced T20 teams in the world two-time IPL and one-time CLT20 winners Chennai Super Kings will be looking get their first points on the board against South Africa’s Dolphins at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
CSK were stunned an Andre Russell special in their opening tie against KKR which they lost despite being in a strong position.
The Dolphins too faced a similar defeat after Mitchell Marsh smoked 2 sixes off the last two balls which saw the Perth Scorchers snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Both teams will be looking to open their CLT20 account and knowing the Bengaluru pitch and stadium which is a run heaven the big hitters and slower bowlers will play a key role. But this being the start of the domestic season the pitch may play differently this time around.
Mitchell Marsh hit successive sixes off the last two deliveries as Perth Scorchers from Australia beat South Africa’s Dolphins by six wickets in a group league match of the Champions League T20.
Needing 12 off the last two deliveries, Marsh dispatched seamer Robbie Frylinck over deep mid-wicket and long-on to successfully chase down a target of 165 set up by the Dolphins.
Ther final six sparked off wild celebrations as it turned out to be a disappointing end for the unfancied Dolphins, who were favourites till final two deliveries of the match.
It was ironical that Frylinck, who himself while batting hit two sixes off Yasir Arafat during the last over of the Dolphins innings, couldn’t defend those two big hits, when he came on to bowl the final over in the Scorchers innings.
