Promising all-rounder Kamlesh Nagarkoti, who is known to have the ability to cross the 140 kph barrier on the speed gun consistently, has been ruled out of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. The BCCI Medical Team informed on Friday that Nagarkoti is unwell and will not be able to take part in the tournament.
Nagarkoti had been eyeing a return to action in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. He last played in a professional game on February 14, 2018, when he represented Rajasthan in a Vijay Hazare Trophy group game against Tamil Nadu.
Nagarkoti’s U-19 World Cup teammate Shivam Mavi has been named as his replacement in the squad. The squad also includes Arman Jaffer, Wasim Jaffer’s nephew.
India have been placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Nepal, while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Oman.

Meanwhile, the All-India Junior Selection Committee also picked the India A, India B and India C teams for the upcoming U-19 Challenger Trophy to be played in Hyderabad from November 11. The tournament will also feature Nepal ‘A’ as the fourth team.
