It took less than three hours of playtime for India to run right through Sri Lanka in the 2023 Asia Cup final in Colombo on Sunday. Inspired by Mohammed Siraj’s six-fer, the Rohit Sharma-led side would restrict the hosts for a record lowest Asia Cup score of 50 before chasing down the total inside 6.1 overs.
And so, with all the time by their side, the men in blue celebrated their eighth Asia Cup win in style. Southpaw Ishan Kishan, who opened the innings in the final with Shubman Gill and wrapped up the summit clash, was involved in post-match mimic duel with former India captain Virat Kohli.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Kishan can be seen enacting Kohli’s walk as the latter is surrounded by other Indian players, who were left in hysterics watching the 24-year-old. Responding to Kishan, Kohli did his own enactment of the former’s walk.
Kishan closed the Asia Cup with 143 runs in his kitty that included a highest score of 82 against Pakistan in the middle order during the group stage fixture in Pallekele that was washed out following India’s batting in the first innings.
Kohli on the other hand, scored his 77th international hundred in the next India-Pakistan fixture during the Super 4 stage.
India next play Australia in a three-match ODI series starting Friday, September 22 in Mohali.
