Pat Cummins’ struggling Sunrisers Hyderabad will host an upbeat Punjab Kings led by Shreyas Iyer in the Indian Premier League 2025 Match No. 27 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday’s second match. Sitting at the bottom of the points table with just one win in five matches, SRH need a quick turnaround before things become impossible for the previous year’s finalist.
Punjab beat Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders in two consecutive games and appear to be a solid contender for the top four spot. Their batting unit looks very dangerous at the moment with multiple stars coming into the fore. It was Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran towards the start of the campaign before Priyansh Arya lit the IPL by slamming the second-fastest century by an Indian in IPL during the match against Chennai Super Kings. For a change, PBKS could bring in Yash Thakur as Impact Sub if fielding first.
SRH, meanwhile, have to recalibrate their batting while their bowling need some major reinforcement. Skipper Cummins has looked pale with the ball in the middle and slog overs. Jaydev Unadkat and Harshal Patel can stay in the XI with Mohammed Shami and Cummins being the other two pacers SRH can also look to bring back Rahul Chahar, to show his skills against his former team. Adam Zampa can also replace Kamindu Mendis in the playing XI.
