India produced an inspiring bowling performance in the second T20 international against West Indies to bowl them out for 143 on a slow yet good batting track in Florida.

India once again won the toss and MS Dhoni decided to bowl first for the second consecutive day. Having lost the first T20I by one run, India needed to win the second to level the series and avoid a whitewash at the hands of West Indies.

West Indies openers, Johnson Charles and Evin Lewis, who shared a 126-run stand for the first wicket in the first match, didn’t have the same luck on Sunday as Mohammed Shami broke the stand early by dismissing Lewis with a surprise and quick bouncer.

Later, Indian spinners broke the backbone of West Indies batting with Amit Mishra, who replaced Stuart Binny in the playing XI, foxing the batsmen with his leg-spin.

He picked up the prize scalp of Charles who was on 43 and looking good for another half-century.

The Indian bowlers who had failed to stop the West Indies onslaught on Saturday, didn’t allow the same batsmen to hit big on Sunday.

Bhuvnehswar Kumar was also impressive alongside Shami and later Ashwin and Bumrah choked the West Indies. Bumrah was special with his perfect yorkers.

West Indies ended up 102 runs short of what they made on Saturday and were bowled out by India for 143 runs, leaving India a good chance to chase down the target and level the series.
