IND vs ENG Highlights: Yashasvi Jaiswal celebrates his century during the first day of the second Test cricket match between India and England, at Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. IND vs ENG Highlights, 2nd Test Day 1: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravichandran Ashwin remain unbeaten at stumps with India reaching 336/6 in the second Test of the five-match series against England in Visakhapatnam. The former has gone past 150 and the latter has walked into bat in the final stages of Day. Shoaib Bashir and Rehan Ahmed chip in with a couple of wicket each.
Earlier Rohit Sharma have won the toss and India elect to bat first. India have made three changes in their playing XI. Injured KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja has been replaced by Rajat Patidar, who is making his Test debut and Kuldeep Yadav. Mukesh Kumar comes in for Mohammed Siraj. On the other hand, England have made a couple of changes from their last win. Off-spinner Shoaib Bashir is making his debut in place of injured Jack Leach and James Anderson will replace Mark Wood.
Earlier, the Ben Stokes-led England side took little time to surprise India by taking a 1-0 lead in the five-Test match series. It was only India’s fourth defeat in the longest format in the past 10 years. Looking to prove it as an aberration rather than a recurring trend, as a team with the best W/L ratio in the format at home since 2014, India will take field against England in the second Test starting February 2 in Visakhapatnam.

India vs England Live Score: On Day 1 Yashasvi Jaiswal and R Ashwin stay not out at stumps, IND 336/6 in Visakhapatnam
The final session belongs to England. They have picked three wickets. Axar and Bharat went in a similar way trying to play a cut shot and caught at point. Out of nowhere, England has clawed back into the game right at the end. However, it has been a day to remember for Jaiswal. The youngster showed a lot of maturity despite the falling wickets at the other end. He kept his cool and managed to remain unbeaten at the end of the day's play. Both Jaiswal and Ashwin will come in the morning and would be hoping to take India near that 400 mark.
India vs England Live Score: After 90.5 overs IND 330/5 on Day 1
We are reaching the final stages of Day's play and might see Anderson bowl an over or so. Bharat has played a slog sweep which went for a six in the last over which indicates that the batter might take his chances in this innings.
India vs England Live Score: After 89.2 overs IND 323/5 on Day 1
Jaiswal has now gone past his previous best of 171 against West Indies. He continues to play his innings irrespective of what has happened at the other end. Rehan Ahmed did not bowl for a long time and once he was given the ball he bowled a good lengthy spell here. Jaiswal is getting some treatment on the ground for cramps. We have just an over left to reach 90 overs but 13 minutes of the day left as per time. This might also be a tactic from the batter to make sure that England does not bowl much beyond that 90-over mark in the dying stages of today's play.
India vs England Live Score: After 88 overs IND 307/5 on Day 1
With the wicket of Axar England would be happier of both sides going back into the dressing room after the day's play. One more wicket here Stokes will be ecstatic. This is something coach Rathour and Dravid need to address with the batting group. Apart from Jaiswal none of the batters crossed 50. It would ba an easy excuse to give once Kohli is back everything will be fine however, the way things are going at the moment there are questions to be asked in this aspect of the play where the batters are struggling to score big runs for the second game in a row on a flat wicket.
India vs England Live Score: After 85.3 overs IND 301/5 on Day 1
India has reached 300 now and will be hoping that they can add 200 more to the total. As of now, Axar has been another batter who looks good, and will be hoping that he won't repeat the same mistake as the previous batters. As for Jaiswal, it is important that he continues on his way through the day and comes in the morning and scores big. The light has been fading quite sharply in the last 15 minutes or so which is a bit of concern now. With 30 minutes left and fading light, it might not be a bad ploy for Stokes to take the new ball and test the batter's concentration. As we update Axar departs.
India vs England Live Score: After 80.2 overs IND 288/4 on Day 1
Rehan Ahmed would be a much happier man today with his performance. Though he did deliver a few loose ones today he did come back well. He is going at 3s which Stokes would not mind at all as long as he gives him wickets. While as we update Axar Patel has called for drinks just after a drinks break. Though the over-rate won't be an issue today these are the kind off things umpires should not let batters do. Also one more possible reason for the solid overrate might be the lack of reviews taken througout the day.
India vs England Live Score: After 80.2 overs IND 288/4 on Day 1
We have reached the first water break and it has been a shared hour so far. England not only managed to pick a wicket they have also kept a lid on the scoring rate. However, Indian batters have batted well and now is the opportunity for both Jaiswal and Axar to take the bowling on. We have also reached the 80 overs mark and now might see Stokes take the new ball to change the momentum of this game. And the lights have been turned on already. It has been one of the problems at this ground where it tends to get darker earlier than usual compared to other southern venues.
India vs England Live Score: After 78 overs IND 277/4 on Day 1
Jaiswal gets to his 150 now. He played a sumptuous drive-through cover to get to the landmark. Applause from the dressing room what an inning this is turning out to be from Jaiswal. What has been noticeable from Jaiswal has been his understanding of the game situation and adopting his innings accordingly. Once Patidar fell Jaiswal went into his shell and started to bat time and build a partnership. He might be waiting for the new ball which will give the opportunities for scoring as the ball tends to fly off the bat. This old ball might be soft and he is not willing to take those chances against it as the timing needs to be spot on.
India vs England Live Score: After 74.3 overs IND 255/4 on Day 1
Rehan Ahmed is looking a lot more confident since picking the wicket of Patidar. He is tossing the ball up nicely to the new batter Axar Patel. James Anderson at the other end is also in the middle of a good spell. This has been good passage of play for England. Not only have they picked a wicket they have also stopped the flow of runs. With two left-handers in the middle, we might soon see either Bashir or Root be brought into attack for a spell. It has not been a brilliant day for England but once again it has been Indian batters who threw their wickets helping England stay in the game.
India vs England Live Score: After 72.2 overs IND 249/4 on Day 1
Another soft dismissal. It is Patidar this time. He tried to fend the ball with a nice stride forward and got the inside edge and the ball bounced onto the stumps. Once again another promising partnership that does enough but doesn't completely push England out of the game. Rahul Dravid will be feeling like watching an action replay of that batting effort from Hyderabad. Axar Patel has walked into the middle. Quite a promotion for the batter from nine to six. Once again another partnership is needed from the Indian batters. Someone needs to stay with Jaiswal here.
India vs England Live Score: After 70.1 overs IND 249/3 on Day 1
James Anderson is getting a bit of a reverse swing at the moment of the surface. However, Patidar is tackling it well he is seeing the ball closely and playing it late. However, he might be careful of Anderson's other variations as well. We are 10 overs away from the second new ball and it will be interesting to see if Stokes will take it. Overate has been brilliant today from England. Kevin Pietersen in commentary mentions that England has lost 19 points for slow overate in the World Test Championship cycle. However, not bowling your overs out playing three spinners in Hyderabad was very poor for the visitors.
India vs England Live Score: After 67 overs IND 234/3 on Day 1
With the way things are going at the moment India should be getting over 450 runs in the first innings which would be a good score. Unless another batter gets a ton from here on it is tough to see India getting themselves into a position of declaration. Once again these are excellent conditions to bat on and will remain the same through the second innings. Things will start to change in the third and fourth innings drastically. Hence it becomes important that India get as many runs as possible and make the bowlers earn their wickets rather than throw them away.
India vs England Live Score: After 65 overs IND 227/3 on Day 1
Rehan Ahmed has taken the ball from one end and James Anderson has taken from the other end. It might not be a long spell for Anderson but it might be for Rehan. He has been warming up throughout the second session and finally got his opportunity with 10 minutes to go for Tea. Accuracy has been a problem for Rehan and so far he has started well in the first couple of overs. However, he needs to string on a few quietovers to create an opportunity. Compared to the remaining two bowlers Rehan is a bit on the slower side in the early 80s. He would learn a lot seeing Kuldeep bowling in the second innings.
India vs England Live Score: Welcome back!
We are back for the final session. India would be hoping to pile on more misery on the England bowling. Jaiswal has been magnificent with his ton and will be looking to continue where he left off and Patidar on debut will look to support him.
India vs England Live Score: How short Ben Duckett and tall Zak Crawley drive England’s Bazball engine
Posting the team picture before Ashes on Instagram, Ben Duckett wrote: “I should probably find a different spot to stand.” Beside the padded-up Duckett, 5 feet seven, was his opening accomplice, Zak Crawley, all of six feet five.
It’s the height that strikes first. In a way, everything begins with height. It’s their vertical proportions that has shaped their game. Crawley stands tall on the crease, has long levers, a long reach, and his strokes travel clean straight lines. He is strong on the front-foot and an immaculate driver through covers. Duckett squats in his stance, the pad reaching almost to his mid-riff, has short strides, is a strong square of the wicket, and drives on the rise rather than reaching to the pitch of the ball. Whereas Crawley seems to glide along the turf, Duckett bristles in the crease. It’s like what Crawley is, Duckett is not; and what Duckett is, Crawley is not. (Read more from Sandip G)
India vs England Live Score: After 63 overs IND 225/3 on Day 1
Well, that's the end of the session and it did belong to India. Though there was a wicket of Iyer, Patidar walked in and played a lovely cameo on debut. He will be hoping to carry after Tea as well to make a score of substance in his first game of his. As per Jaiswal, he has toned down a touch as we have come closer to the Tea, and looks like he is in it for the long haul. As for England, Rehan Ahmed has been just brought into the attack and we might see a lot of him post Tea as both the finger spinners did bowl a lot of over so far in the game.
India vs England Live Score: After 60 overs IND 218/3 on Day 1
Patidar reverse-swept Joe Root for a boundary and this is the first time Broom has been out by the Indian batters on the day. There has been plenty of debate about it and we have not seen much of it today until this point. The sweep meant Root immediately changed his length and Patidar whacked him for another boundary. Now he has got his innings going. As we update finally Stokes has turned to Rehan Ahmed with 10 minutes to go for Tea. It will be interesting to see if there is a fluctuation in his confidence as he was not been employed so far in the game.
India vs England Live Score: After 58 overs IND 207/3 on Day 1
We have not seen Rehan Ahmed brought into the attack so far by Stokes. It has been the same bowlers in the first session he used he is rotating in the afternoon session. Root has been brought into the attack once again. We only have to wait and see when Stokes will turn to Rehan. Yes, he might be worried about him bowling a few loose ones and letting a few runs go away but this is a flat wicket and usually, leg-spinners tend to get a lot more on flat wickets than on turners hence it might not be a bad idea for Stokes to bring Rehan for a couple of overs at least before lunch.
India vs England Live Score: After 55 overs IND 196/3 on Day 1
Given the nature of the pitch and history of the ground as first innings cancel each other out India must have a session where they do not lose a wicket. For the most part, it looked like it would be that session that would put on course India to make a massive score. However, Iyer's wicket means it has been done all over again. Patidar is another player whose instinct is to take the attack on and if he can stay at the crease for longer he will hurt the bowlers. Once again there have been occasions where England spinners have shown their weakness however, even today but the Indian batting is not helping themselves with the shots they are playing.
India vs England Live Score: After 52 overs IND 186/3 on Day 1
Shreyas Iyer departed. Another batter yet again after getting a start departs. To be fair to Iyer the ball did keep a tad bit low which did not help his cause and Ben Foakes took a brilliant low catch. Nevertheless, another opportunity has gone begging. Heartly gets his first one of the Test match. Debutant Rajat Patidar has walked into the middle and is off the mark as well. India needs to rebuild the innings all over again here. We might see Jaiswal once again go back into his shell and build another partnership with the debutant. After these, there is no Jadeja today which does lighten the batting.
India vs England Live Score: After 50.2 overs IND 179/2 on Day 1
A six to bring up a 100 for Jaiswal what a magnificent innings he has played. He took his time initially but once he made up his mind he would go after the bowling boy oh boy he has been severe on Heartly. This is the kind of innings that India needed after winning the toss and batting first and young Jaiswal delivers it. He is a superstar in the making there is absolutely no doubt about his ability. Now the problems begin for Stokes as Jaiswal has the habit of making massive tons. If he continues at the pace he has been since lunch and scores big England will be in a lot of trouble.
India vs England Live Score: After 47 overs IND 163/2 on Day 1
We have reached the second water break and it has been India's hour. They started a bit slowly and kept increasing the tempo as the session went on. Stokes has something to ponder upon in the drinks break. Jaiswal has been magnificent in changing the gears. He is used to the pace of the surface and the ball is going in straight lines at the moment. A massive score is to be had for the left-hander. As per Iyer now he too has got himself in and India would be hoping that he would deliver a handy knock and give India a massive first innings total.
India vs England Live Score: After 46 overs IND 160/2 on Day 1
In the last 15 minutes or so there seems to be a change in tempo from Jaiswal. He is going after the bowling more especially against Heartley. In the last three overs in a row, Hartley has conceded at least one boundary. He is bowling loose ones and a few are being forced upon by the batters because of the intent to score. This is where Stokes will miss the experience of Jack Leach who would have had the art of stringing up a few tight overs. Bashir has been brought into attack and Stokes would be hoping he can give some control. This is good from India they have started to take the attack.
India vs England Live Score: After 42 overs IND 137/2 on Day 1
Time and again Shreyas Iyer is trying to take room by stepping away and Hartley seeing that from Iyer is not delivering the ball. However, how much impact those moments had on him only he can tell but he has delivered loose balls in the last few overs which is letting the pressure ease off the batters. Also what we are seeing from this partnership is strike rotation has been consistent. Yes, there were a few yes and no calls initially but there has been intent to take those quick singles and keep the scoreboard ticking which is a positive sign for India.
India vs England Live Score: After 40 overs IND 125/2 on Day 1
Tom Hartley has changed ends here as Anderson has been taken out of the attack. It is interesting that Stokes once again opted for Root ahead of Bashir as an off-spinner option. On the other hand, Jaiswal has the responsibility of making a big score here and anchor this inning. So far he has maintained the right balance between attack and defense and he needs to continue to do more or less the same throughout the day. Iyer on the other hand is looking much better today compared to his second innings effort in Hyderabad. This partnership building nicely
India vs England Live Score: After 36.4 overs IND 113/2 on Day 1
There has been an issue with the running between the wickets between these two players. There have been a lot of yes and no's at the moment. Apart from that things have gone according to the plan for England so far. Anderson has started after lunch and he is giving the control needed for Stokes. He is bowling wobble seam deliveries and cutters and keeping the batters guessing. Once again India is falling into that trap of batters getting stuck at ends. At the moment Jaiswal is stuck at Anderson's ends and Hartley to Iyer which again lets bowlers set them up.
India vs England Live Score: After 34 overs IND 109/2 on Day 1
Joe Root has bowled an over and is replaced by Hartley from that end. Meanwhile, James Anderson has started from the other end. He is in the middle of a brilliant spell is Anderson here? He is bowling lovely lines and drawing the batters forward. To Iyer, the fields have been set for a short ball. Though Anderson is not as quick as Wood he does have the experience and skill to suck in Iyer to play a false shot. It will be interesting to see how Iyer goes in this inning. He was a bit passive in the chase in Hyderabad going against his instinct of playing attacking cricket.
India vs England Live Score: Welcome back!
Welcome back to the noon session. We had an absorbing morning session and expect more or less the same. Both teams have the opportunity to strengthen their grip on the game.
India vs England Live Score: Why England is handing out debut to Pakistan-origin rookie off-spinner Bashir
Last Sunday, despite landing in Hyderabad at around 8.30 am after a visa delay, Shoaib Bashir turned up at the Uppal stadium midway through the morning session of the first Test. It was a Test where he could have made his debut, but he didn’t show any disappointment. Ben Stokes told him that he could go back to the hotel and beat the jet-lag. But the 20-year-old would seat himself right next to the boundary hoardings and soak in the atmosphere. (Read more from Venkata Krishna B)
India vs England Live Score: Rajat Patidar-A brave bird who has finally got the sky to spread his wings
“Kai baar pankh aur hausle dono hote hai magar udne ke liye aasman nahi hota (Sometimes you have the wings and courage but you don’t have the sky to fly),” former India cricketer Amay Khurasia gives a philosophical touch, while talking about 30-year old Rajat Patidar’s journey. “Two years ago, when he scored that outstanding hundred in the IPL semi-final against Jofra Archer and co., he should have been drafted into the Indian team. The point is he was consistent. He should have got a chance then only,” says Khurasia, who is the mentor of Patidar. (Read more from Pratyush Raj)
India vs England Live Score: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer take IND to 103/2 in Visakhapatnam on Day 1
We have reached the lunch break on Day one of this second Test and it has been a shared session. India courtesy of Jaiswal has managed to get over 100 runs. This inning so far has followed the same pattern of the last game where Indian batters got starts and threw it away playing nothing shots. Both Rohit and Gill will be disappointed with their dismissals for different reasons. Well as per England though things look good for a while towards the end of that session Bashir did start to bowl a few loose ones and that comes with inexperience the longer Indian batters can stay in the game, the more of those deliveries will come to capitalise on.
India vs England Live Score: After 29.2 overs IND 95/2 on Day 1
It is a nothing shot from Shubman Gill at the end. The ball is wide outside the off-stump and he poked at it got the outside and carried it to Foakes who took a brilliant catch. This is what precisely Anderson was brought to do before lunch and he delivers.
India vs England Live Score: After 28.4 overs IND 89/1 on Day 1
Shubman Gill has looked much better today compared to his previous outings in Test match cricket. He has looked a lot more positive and looked to score runs. Gill is one of those modern players similar to the likes of Markram where he tends to look magnificent when scores runs and when going through a rough patch they are terrible to watch. Today luckily for India Gill has come in a positive mood and is playing sublime shots. The scoring rate has gone up significantly now Stokes has to think differently if this partnership continues to grow.
India vs England Live Score: After 26.5 overs IND 71/1 on Day 1
Anderson has been brought in for a second spell before the break. This partnership has looked largely untroubled so far. However, it is not a pretty 20s and 30s that will help India win this game they need to post a mammoth total here. The wicket is still excellent for batting, and if Gill and Jaiswal can stay intact till lunch break and come back, runs are to be had in the noon session. Also will be intresting to see when Stokes will turn to Rehan Ahmed today as he was the one bowler who struggled completely in the first game in Hyderabad.
India vs England Live Score: After 23.3 overs IND 64/1 on Day 1
Since Rohit has departed there has been a bit more urgency from the players in the middle. Shubman Gill who got a bit into two minds in Hyderabad in the first innings has come with a lot more positive intent here. He is going down the track regularly and pushing the ball for a single which is more like it. Jaiswal too has been a bit more proactive since the dismissal of the skipper. This feels a better way to play for the Indians than to get stuck at the ends against one spinner and wait for the bowlers to make a mistake. Also, Indian batters have done nothing which made Stokes to change the tactics with fieldsets and bowling changes which he has come up with in the morning.
India vs England Live Score: After 20.2 overs IND 56/1 on Day 1
Rohit Sharma falls for a low score. It was a soft dismissal he tried to leg-glance the ball and it went straight to leg-slip. It was a strange shot selection from Rohit and it can happen when you tend to be defensive. He will be having a hard think about the innings he has played today as it is very unlike him to play this way. Did the lack of experience in the middle order play on his mind and force him to play this way only he can answer? Shubman Gill has walked into the middle. If any batter desperately needs some runs in both teams, it is Shubman Gill.
India vs England Live Score: After 17.2 overs IND 40/0 on Day 1
We have reached the first water break here and it has been shared hour so far. Though England could not pick any wickets India did not go anywhere in scoring rate. Though it is a solid start the concerning thing has been how Rohit is batting. Though he has looked solid in defence Rohit is someone who tends to play his shots. On the last tour when England was here and India lost the first Test in Chennai in the second game, Rohit was the one who set the tone with a magnificent century. However, this time looks like he is going to take a different route.
India vs England Live Score: After 15.3 overs IND 39/0 on Day 1
As of now, Rohit Sharma is taking the bulk of strike against Hartley and Jaiswal against Bashir. India would like to have that changed because of the match-up. It would be better for Jaiswal to face the left-arm spinner and likewise for Rohit. That also gives more scoring opportunities for both players. The Indian batters are looking to grind out and tire the bowlers. However, the risk that tactic tends to bring is a couple of wickets will swing the momentum completely towards England. Also, something interesting is the fields here Stokes has set once again.
India vs England Live Score: After 13 overs IND 32/0 on Day 1
Off-spinner Bashir has been brought into the attack and starts well. He has been around that middle and off-stump region to Jaiswal who got a nice stride forward and defended the ball well. Indian batters though don't want to give away their wickets by going ultra-aggressive they also need to be wary of not going into their shells and stop strike rotation. Especially with an off-spinner and left-arm spinner Tom Hartley operating it gets even more important that there is constant rotation of strike between the left-hander and right-hander which will unsettle the spinners.
India vs England Live Score: After 10 overs IND 23/0 on Day 1
James Anderson has bowled five overs and have given away just six runs. This is what precisely he has been brought to do and he is delivering at the moment. India on the other hand seems to have come with different plans today. In the first Test, they were looking to attack the bowlers a bit more but here they are being a bit circumspective. Rohit might be thinking that they only want to bat once here. They have won the toss and he would be looking to make it count by posting a massive total. And once again this England bowling attack is an inexperienced one if Indian batters do put the pressure on we have seen them buckle in Hyderabad.
India vs England Live Score: After 7.4 overs IND 19/0 on Day 1
Rohit Sharma needs some runs under his belt here. Though he has been getting starts he has struggled to make big scores in recent times. Today the wicket looks good and India needs him to deliver. There could not be possibly a better time for him to make a score. Jaiswal on the other hand after getting a couple of boundaries early away is struggling to get the ball away. Once again Ben Stokes has started well with the field sets here. He has taken off the boundary options for India hence the innings have started a bit on the slower side.
India vs England Live Score: After 4.1 overs IND 13/0 on Day 1
The primary role of James Anderson throughout this Test match would be to give control to Ben Stokes and keep an end tied up. Though Mark Wood did not give away too many runs in Hyderabad because of his high pace and injury-prone action Stokes could not use him in longer spells but today he can with Anderson. Root on the other hand has started again today with a few looseners and Jaiswal hit him for a couple of boundaries in that first over. We have to wait and see how long before Stokes will bring in the last match's hero Tom Hartley into attack.
India vs England Live Score: After 1.5 overs IND 9/0 on Day 1
James Anderson has taken the new ball and there has been not much of a swing on offer with that new ball. Joe Root has taken the ball from the other end. We have to wait and see a touch longer to see if there is any moisture on the surface which will assist both Anderson and Root. Day one on Hyderabad offered plenty however, once moisture dried out on Days 2 and 3 the wicket became excellent for batting until the post Tea session on Day 4. In the last Test here Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma put on a massive opening stand indicating the pitch doesn't have much on offer early in the game.
India vs England Live Score: Let's go
The conditions are looking good and we might have plenty of runs scored today. This is the third Test match at the venue and in the first two games here first innings tend to cancel each out whatever may be the case we have another enthralling Test match on our hands.
India vs England Live Score: Pitch Report by Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik
The wicket looks like a beauty to bat on. All English fans would be smiling at that. The top layer in black soil, below is red soil. There will be turn but not too much on Day 1. Certainly a win toss, bat first kind of wicket. Both sides will play plenty of spinners but we expect the spinners to come into the contest later in the Test. The first two days certainly better for batting.
India vs England Live Score: Ben Stokes at the toss
Would have batted as well. It was a great last week, but we know India will come back hard. To come from behind like we did was very pleasing. We'll take the confidence from that, but new week now. It is an amazing atmosphere to play in for the boys. To get such an opportunity at the start of their career will do wonders for their confidence. Two changes - Shoaib Bashir and James Anderson come in for Jack Leach and Mark Wood.
India vs England Live Score: Injury update
Mr Mohd. Siraj has been released from the India squad for the second Test against England in Vizag.
The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and the amount of cricket he has played in recent times.
He will be available for selection for the third Test in Rajkot.
Avesh Khan has re-joined the team for the 2nd Test.

India vs England Live Score: Rohit Sharma at toss
We'll bat first. Looks a good pitch, the pitch will do its thing, we need to play good cricket. What happened in Hyderabad is history, we need to move on. We have spoken on things we need to do, now we need to execute on our plans. I thought we batted well in the first innings, but didn't have the same intent. Similarly, in the second innings with the bowl there was a brilliant knock by Ollie Pope. Injuries are part and parcel of the game, but that's why we have the guys sitting on the bench. Two unforced changes - Jadeja and KL miss out, and Siraj has been rested. We've got Mukesh, Kuldeep and Rajat Patidar making his debut.
India vs England Live Score: Reports from Vishakapatnam
Rajat Patidar gets his India cap.
Mukesh Kumar is marking his run-up. So looks like there is no Siraj and Mukesh could be India's second seamer.
India vs England Live Score: Ben Stokes is happy to welcome back one of the greats of the game, James Anderson, into his playing XI
"Bringing Jimmy's experience, the class that he has, is great and I think it also goes under the radar how good his record in India is."
India vs England Live Score: Vikram Rathour on India's batting plans after a second-innings implosion in Hyderabad.
"Could they have batted with more discipline? Maybe they could have. That's what they need to decide and come up with their plans. But, they need to score runs by playing their shots, as you need to back your strengths. Batting is always about scoring runs. It's not about not getting out but how many runs you put on the board."
India vs England Live Score: hilarious incident
Madhya Pradesh captain Shubham Sharma, who has been friends with Patidar for the past 15 years, recalls a hilarious incident about how Rajat was hesitant to accept the offer and he had to postpone his marriage due to IPL.
“We were playing division cricket in Indore. He got a call from RCB, as a replacement and he didn’t want to go. He told me’ Arey Shubham mai jau ki nahi yaar? (Shall I go or not) My marriage date is fixed as well. I told him ‘You should go, they will definitely give you a chance and will let you bat at No 3 as well.’ But he was not convinced and said ‘Khilayenge nahi mereko, isse acha shaadi kar leta hun na (They will not play me, instead I should get married). I begged him ‘bhai tu ja 100 pratishat khilayenge (Please go, hundred percent you will play),” laughs Sharma.
India vs England Live Score: Toss-up between Siraj and Kuldeep
Mohammed Siraj did not have much to do in the Hyderabad Test hence we might see Kuldeep Yadav come into the side in place of him. The 29-year-old will give the extra dimension of left-arm-wrist spin to the bowling arsenal. With England batters opting sweeping and reverse sweeping as the mode of attack against spin Kuldeep might be an ideal candidate to counter it.
India vs England Live Score: Washington Sundar to replace Ravindra Jadeja
Filling the hole left by Jadeja will be tough for the Indian side but they do have the option of Sundar who is efficient both with the bat and ball. His 62 at Gabba coming down the order stitching a valuable partnership with Shardul Thakur indicated not only he has sound technique but also a solid temperament. Sundar also scored a good-looking 85 in the first Test in Chennai in the last India vs England series in 2021.
India vs England Live Score: Patidar sets to make his debut
The Madhya Pradesh middle-order batter is all set to replace KL Rahul. Patidar is gifted with timing and can play long innings as well. The 29-year-old in first-class cricket has made 4000 runs at an average of 45.97 with 12 centuries and 22 half-centuries.
