India vs Bangladesh (IND vs BAN) 1st Test Highlights: India are in pole position at the end of days play and by some distance the happier team tonight. Pujara and Agarwal are unbeaten at the end and they will look forward to bat on this lovely track in Indore. A forgetful day for the visitors after being bowled out for 150 in just 58.3 overs and then being poor on the field.

Bangladesh’s hopes of putting up a strong first innings total were crushed by India’s bowlers. Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored for Bangladesh for 43, Mominul Haque could only make 37 on his Test captaincy debut because of a brilliant bowling attack by India. Mohammad Shami ruled large, registering a healthy 3/27, while each of Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and Ravichandran Ashwin scalped three wickets each. Earlier, Mominul had won the toss and chose to bat first.

India vs Bangladesh 1st Test, Day 1 Highlights:

    17:06 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Stumps on Day 1:

Pujara lets it go and end of the first day of India vs Bangladesh. India are in pole position now and by some distance the happier team tonight. Pujara and Agarwal unbeaten at the end. They will look forward to bat on this lovely track in Indore.  A forgetful day for the visitors after being bowled out for 150 and then being poor on the field.

    16:59 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Seems like a day for dropped catches. Imrul Kayes is the guilty party as he drops a sitter at first slip. Pitched fuller and gets it to straighten just a little after pitching. Agarwal pushes with hard hands and the outside edge is produced. Flew at a decent height to first slip where it goes straight in and out of Kayes' hands. IND- 83/1 after 24 ovs

    16:48 (IST)14 Nov 2019
The captain is in a happy mood
    16:37 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Runs coming thick and fast

FOUR! This time it  is crashed on the up and races to the fence. That ball was over-pitched and on the off. Mayank Agarawal doesn't need an invitation as he leans into that and strokes it with power and intent. IND- 71/1 after 20 ovs

    16:30 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Stat Attack

Since his breakout series in Australia, Cheteshwar Pujara has compiled just 205 runs in his last five Tests (before today). Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim still getting the hang of this outfielding concept. He lets one slip through at mid-on.

    16:21 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Fifty up for IND!

After three boundaries in the previous over, Cheteshwar Pujara (36*) hits the sixth boundary of his innings to bring up the fifty for India. And he follows it up with another against Ebadat Hossain. IND are 56/1 after 16 overs.

    16:03 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Pujara in song

After punishing Taijul Islam for an exquisite boundary in the previous over, Cheteshwar Pujara lays down the same treatment for Abu Jayed. Slightly on the backfoot, and completely on the technique of the wrist.. and it sails away for a four at point. Both the batsmen are on 13. IND are 32/1 after 12 overs.

    15:38 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Abu Jayed comes back with a determined run-up and Rohit Sharma loosely connects with it, and he gets caught behind to Liton Das. He departs for 6. Cheteshwara Pujara prepares himself. IND are 14/1 after 7.2 overs.

    15:36 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    IND taking it slow

Both Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal are taking it quite nice and easy now, hoping to not lose a wicket before the end of the day. They are choosing their shots carefully, just how Rohit hit a boundary this over. IND are 12/0 after the six overs.

    15:10 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Mayank, Rohit open

Ebadat Hossain restarts the proceedings in the third session, and he is hit for a brilliantly timed boundary on the first ball itself. Mayank Agarwal has got some swagger. IND are 5/0 after the first over.

    14:58 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    A bowling masterclass
    14:55 (IST)14 Nov 2019

And that's the final nail in the coffin, as Ebadat Hossain is clean bowled by Umesh Yadav. He leaves for just 2, as the inevitable happened. Bangladesh are bundled for 150 in just 58.3 overs, with Mushfiqur Rahim top-scoring for them with a valiant 43. Time for India to add to the agony by showing off their batting prowess?

    14:47 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Ravindra Jadeja does what he does best. He bowls well, and he fields like a real maestro. Taijul Islam tried to take a chance but is punished by Jadeja's accurate throw to Wriddhiman Saha, and he is runout. BAN are 148/9 after 56.4 overs.

    14:30 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Play resumes, and India adds to the headache of the visitors as the team takes a hattrick! Ishant Sharma with the ball, Virat Kohli with the catch, and off goes Liton Das. The batsman scored 21 from 31 balls. BAN are 140/8 after 54.1 overs.

    14:18 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Shami, Ashwin has a fan
    14:13 (IST)14 Nov 2019

On comes Mehedy Hasan, and he is trapped on the very first ball itself. A big shout after yet another full delivery, and Mohammad Shami bags his second in as many. With the conclusion of that maiden over, the umpires decide it's time for some tea. The 29-year-old is on a hattrick though. BAN are 140/7 after 54 overs.

    14:08 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Mohammad Shami is at it again with a delivery which still traumatises Faf du Plessis. Mushfiqur Rahim is just too slow to understand the pace and seam of the ball, and off he goes with his bails flying, back to the pavilion on 43. BAN are 140/6 after 53.5 overs.

    13:57 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Das lits Indore on fire

Liton Das has set the mood well for the visitors here, with three quick boundaries. Ravindra Jadeja was smacked for two boundaries in the last over itself. Whle he's on 13* from just 14 balls, Mushfiqur is nearing his half-century.  BAN are 132/5 after 50 overs.

    13:38 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Ravichandran Ashwin needs no favour, no catches or stumpings. He can just get the batsmen clean bowled. Mahmudullah couldn't gauge the spin on the bowler's delivery, and was made to depart for just 10. BAN are 115/5 after 45.1 overs.

    13:30 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Ajinkya Rahane is having a nightmare here. Another outside edge, another catch dropped at first slip. Three times. Ravichandran Ashwin hangs his head in frustration, while Mahmudullah lets out a big breath. BAN are 110/4 after 44 overs.

    13:12 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Hundred up!

Mahmudullah comes to bat after the skipper's wicket. He gets off the mark of the last ball of R Ashwin's successful over. Bangladesh in need of a strong partnership. BAN are 100/4 in 38 overs.

    13:00 (IST)14 Nov 2019

That one went straight through the gate. After two dropped catches, R Ashwin finally gets his first wicket of the day. Mominul Haque expected the ball to spin and turn away from him but it went straight and disturbed the timber. The resistance from Bangladesh skipper ends as he departs for 37 from 80 deliveries. BAN are 99/4 in 37.1 overs.

    12:43 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Mushfiqur Rahim dances down the track and hits Ravichandran Ashwin for a six. Rubbing salts on wounds of Ashwin after the half-chance off the first delivery of the over. Rahim follows it up with a boundary. The wicketkeeper-batsman and skipper Mominul Haque also complete the 50-run partnership for the fourth wicket after the top order collapse. BAN are 88/3 in 34 overs.

    12:24 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Butterfingers at it again! Ajinkya Rahane drops yet another catch at first slip, after a brilliant delivery by Ravichandran Ashwin had befuddled Mushfiqur Rahim. Bangladesh third time luck already. BAN are 66/3 after 28 overs.

    12:16 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Play resumes

Mohammad Shami restarts the match, and bowls superbly in the first over of the second session. The batting pair will take all their time in the world to counter those deliveries. Just the one leg-bye from the over. BAN are 64/3 after 27 overs.

    11:35 (IST)14 Nov 2019
And it's time for some lunch!

After a successful morning session for the hosts, it's time for some lunch now! India have kept the pressure on, ever since the dismissal of Mohammad Mithun, but the visitors have been rather fortunate. Two dropped catches, a couple of edged boundaries and some more. Mominul Haque (22*) and Mushfiqur Rahim (14*) are holding strong here, with their partnership upto 32. BAN are 63/3 after 26 overs.

    11:30 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Lady luck favours BAN

After Ajinkya Rahane had dropped Mominul Haque's wicket in the 17th over to Ravichandran Ashwin's ball in the first slip, Bangladesh have lady luck on their side again. Virat Kohli, this time, has dropped the catch of Mushfiqur Rahim at the cordon to Umesh Yadav's ball, and with that, the partnership continues to grow.

    11:25 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Mominul in form

Well, the captain of the visiting team is indeed putting up a fight here with three boundaries from the last two overs. Both Ravichandran Ashwin and Umesh Yadav have been duely punished. He's on 18* now, while Mushfiqur Rahim is on 2*. Nine runs from the recent over. BAN are 47/3 after 22 overs.

    11:01 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Mohammad Mithun is just too slow for Mohammad Shami. The pacer traps him right between the wickets and he is made to depart for 13. The visitors continue to dwindle. BAN are 31/3 after 18 overs.

    10:30 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    BAN taking it slow

Before Mohammad Shami came into the attack, India had just conceded just one run in their previous four overs. The Bengal-born pacer conceded 4 runs in his first over, but Umesh Yadav comes to the rescue. Mohammad Mithun is on 2*, while captain Mominul Haque is on 3*. BAN are 18/2 after 12 overs.

    10:05 (IST)14 Nov 2019

Another ball, another nick, and another wicket. A simple dismissal from Ishant Sharma as he tricks Shadman Islam to get caught behind to Wriddhiman Saha. The debutant managed just 6 runs. BAN are 12/2 after 7 overs.

    10:00 (IST)14 Nov 2019

As inevitable as the sun rising from the east, an Indian pacer has a wicket. Right after getting hit for a boundary, Umesh Yadav gets his revenge on Imrul Kayes. He lands a full lenth delivery which catches the outside edge and lands in the hands of Ajinkya Rahane. The batsman departs for 6. BAN are 12/1 after 6 overs.

    09:50 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Sharma, Umesh begin strong

And they finally open the scoring books with a single by Imrul Kayes against Umesh Yadav. Shadman Islam gets another, but that's in between a couple of deadly inswingers. India on the frontfoot from the start. BAN are 2/0 after 4 overs.

    09:35 (IST)14 Nov 2019
    Ishant starts proceedings

Coming back into the team, Ishant Sharma is handed the new ball to start the innings against the debutant Shadman Islam. Imrul Kayes on the other side. Quite a good start from India, as it starts with a maiden. BAN are 0/0 after the first over.

    Pitch report

The new ball bowlers would enjoy the grass cover of the Indore pitch for the first couple of hours, as there will be a good carry for the pacers too. Maybe it's because of the bit of moisture that Mominul Haque opted to bat first after winning the toss.
