India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I: Rohit Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal on verge of elite records

Rohit Sharma is two sixes away from 400 international sixes across formats. Only Afridi and Gayle are in the 400-sixes club. Yuzvendra Chahal is 1 wicket away from becoming the third Indian bowler to take 50 T20I wickets.

Rohit Sharma (2 sixes away from 400 international sixes) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1 wicket away from 50 T20I wickets) could reach some defining landmarks in the 3rd T20I vs Bangladesh on Sunday.

Rohit Sharma, who smashed six sixes on way to his matchwinning 85 in the 2nd T20I vs Bangladesh, is two sixes away from 400 international sixes across all formats before the 3rd T20I on Sunday.

Only Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle have hit more than 400 sixes in international cricket. Gayle, with 534 sixes, has hit the most sixes in history. Afridi, with 476 sixes, is second on the list.

Rohit has hit 398 sixes in his international career so far – 232 sixes in ODIs, 51 in Tests and 115 in T20Is.

Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been India’s most incisive bowler in the ongoing series, is also on the verge of an elite record. His two wickets in the last T20I took his T20I career haul to 49 wickets. Another wicket would make him only the third Indian bowler to take 50 T20I wickets.

Ravichandran Ashwin has 52 T20I wickets and Jasprit Bumrah has 51 T20I wickets. If Chahal manages to take four wickets, he will surpass Ashwin to become India’s leading wicket-taker in the format.
