India vs Bangladesh (Ind vs Ban) 1st T20 Highlights: Bangladesh defeated India for the first time in their T20I history. The chances given to Mushfiqur Rahim proved to be costly as his unbeaten 60* guides Bangladesh to their first win against India in T20Is. Chasing a 149 on a two-paced wicket, Bangladesh kept at par with the run-rate and chased down the total with three balls to spare. Earlier, an invaluable seventh wicket partnership between Krunal Pandya and Washington Sundar took India to 148/6 in 20 overs.
Amidst the poor air quality in New Delhi, India are taking on Bangladesh in the first T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. India are being led by stand-in captain Rohit Sharma as Virat Kohli is rested for the limited-overs series. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. In a spirited bowling effort, Bangladesh did not allow the Indian batsmen to get away and kept chipping away to dent India’s run rate. Shikhar Dhawan top scored with a laboured 41 of 42 balls. Aminul Islam and Shafiul Islam were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets each.

Bangladesh win by 7 wkts
That is the headline ladies and gentlemen! After all the hearbreak over the years! Bangladesh beat India for the first time in their T20I cricket and go 1-0 up in the 3-match series. Shivam Dube was handed the responsibility in the last over but 4 runs was just not enough to defend. BAN 154/3 in 19.3 ovs
4 | 4 | 4 | 4 - The game has changed on its head! Khaleel is distraught. Just 4 needed in the last over for Bangladesh with 7 wkts in hand.
FIFTY FOR RAHIM
Rahim scooped it away towards fine-leg and thats fifty for the wicketkeeper. Great batting. Back to back fours for the little man! Just 12 needed of 8 now
BAN need 22 runs in 12 balls
Mahmudullah slaps it for a FOUR! This is not going well for India. Can they pull off a win tonight?
Krunal drops a sitter
M Rahim gets a life as K Pandya drops him at the boundary. It's gone through Krunal's hands and he cannot believe it. Rahim survives and Bangladesh need 29 in 15 balls.
Slower ball does the trick for Khaleel. Really good one- you miss and I hit. A dot ball and a wicket and Sarkar has to go for a well made 39. BAN- 114/3 | Bangladesh need 35 runs in 18 balls
Break in Play
Something in Dhawan's eye, and the batsmen are taking a break for a drink too. Meanwhile, the RRR crosses the barrier of 11 runs per over.
100 up for BAN
A single off Krunal and with Bangladesh reach the three-figure mark. 50 runs of the last 5 overs with 8 wickets in end - great position for Bangladesh to be in. Next two overs critical. BAN- 105/2 in 16 overs.

Rishabh: Are mujhe sach me awaz sunai diya;
Rohit: Rahe ne de bhai tu...
Rishabh: Batsman ne pada hoga phir shayad....
Fans missing MS Dhoni
Even though Dhoni is not playing, DHONI-DHONI chants can be heard from Delhi Gate too. Such is his eminence.
IND miss a review
India missed another review option on the third ball (9.3) of Chahal's previous over. The ball-tracking is showed and there are three reds, again. That time they didn't even discuss about the review.
Chahal vs Ban (T20I):
Chahal foxes Naim
CAUGHT! Just like Chahar, even Chahal picks up a wicket in his first over and a much-needed one too. Naim mistimes and Dhawan doesn’t miss out. He does the thigh-five! BAN- 54/2 in 8 ovs
6 1 1 1 4 0 = 13 runs from the Washington Sundar over. 25 runs have come in the last 2 overs and Bangladesh have got a move on.
Mohammad Naim, who was off to a slow start, has got his team going. POWERPLAY ENDS. BAN- 45/1 in 6 ovs
Gone the distance
Brilliant hit from Naim and he needed that to break the shackles. Too straight from Chahar and the batsman timed it really well. First six from the Bangladeshi balde in 3 ovs. BAN 26/1
IND tightening the screws
Sundar and Chahar tightening the screws here on the Bangladesh batsman. How dearly would they love to have Al Hasan help steer them through this tough period. BAN- 20/1 in 4 ovs
Chahar strikes in the first over
Liton Das is gone. It is that swing of Chahar which makes caught in two minds. The ball also held up slightly on the pitch. Whether to play the shot or not. India will be happy to see his back. Das is gone for 7. BAN- 8/1
Liton Das and Mohammad Naim to open the batting for the visitors. Liton Das is on strike. Deepak Chahar will open the attack. HERE WE GO!
SIX of the last ball!
SIXXX! Krunal Pandya with the big hit on the last ball! Waits for the ball to come and just lofts it over mid-off, timing was such that it goes all the way. 16 off the last over and 30 off the last 2 ovs. This partnership for the seventh wicket is invaluable. India have got the flourish they wanted. IND 148/6 in 20 ovs.
India needed this and it was cracker from Washington Sundar. He was right under the delivery as he hoisted the pull over wide long-on, 14 from the over and India are finishing well. IND- 132/9. Last over coming up
Rishabh Pant loses his wicket in an effort to up the ante towards the fag end of the innings. IND- 120/6
A boundary at last
FOUR! It was the slower bouncer from Al-Amin, banged in short and kept rising at the batsman. Rishabh Pant waited and delayed his pull and then helped it over the keeper's head for a boundary.
Final 3 ovs coming up
Last 4 overs have been a quite period for India with the scorecard reading 26/2. Bangladesh's slower bowlers have not allowed India's big hitters to get away. The pitch is also proving to be tricky. IND- 110/5 after 17 ovs. How much can they get from here?
Out. Debutant Shivam Dube checks his shot and a leading-edge is caught brilliantly by Afif off his own bowling. 10 dot ball so far and pressure created leads to a leading edge and a tremendous catch by Afif. IND- 102/5 in 16 ovs
Dhawan is gone for 41. Ridiculous call and poor calling. There was never a second run there as the ball only went till the 15-20 m mark in the field. Dhawan is well short and Pant leads Dhawan down to the dugout. The debutant, Shivam Dube walks out to bat. IND- 95/4 in 14.5 ovs
Dhawan, Pant struggle to find boundaries
With the overs passing away, both Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant are finding it hard to find the odd boundaries. While Dhawan has just managed to fetch 34 in 38 balls, his partner Rishabh is new at the crease and is playing at 5 from 10 deliveries. IND: 85/3 (14 overs)
Aminul Islam strikes again!
Aminul Islam strikes again and this time it's Shreyas Iyer who has to take the long walk back to the pavilion. The batsman departs after scoring 22 from 13 balls. Iyer tried to attack the young leggie, but the tossed up delivery does the trick as he tries to play with the spin. The ball balloons up in the air and is caught by Mohammad Naim right before the boundary rope.
Shreyas Iyer gets to business straightaway!
Shreyas Iyer gets to business straightaway as he smashes two sixes in the eight deliveries he has faced so far. Meanwhile, India reach 60/2 at the end of 9 overs.
KL Rahul departs!
Aminul Islam strikes as India lose their second batsmen. KL Rahul is the man who has to take the long walk back to the pavilion, as he departs after scoring 15 (17). Rahul goes to his backfoot and tried to slice it on the off-side. However, the ball comes slow to the bat as he mistimes his shot and plays it straight to Mahmudullah at covers.
Dhawan and Rahul steady things
After losing Rohit early, Dhawan and Rahul steady things for the hosts as the duo help India reach 35/1 at the end of the first powerplay. While Rahul is batting on 15 from 14 balls, his partner is on 11 from 15 deliveries.
Mustafizur Rahman comes into the attack!
Mustafizur Rahman is introduced in the attack and both KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan have taken a cautious approach against the left-arm medium-pacer. He starts off by giving seven runs in his first over as India reach 29/1 at the end of 5 overs.
Early blow for IND
Rohit has been adjudged lbw. Rohit Sharma creamed a couple of boundaries in the first over, but unfortunately he will have to head back after the review didn't go his way. Umpire's call! KL Rahul at number 3. IND- 10/1
Here we go!
Rohit and Dhawan are at the crease. Rohit is on strike. Shafiul will open the attack. Rohit playing his 99th T20I match. Here we go!

India (Playing XI):
Rohit Sharma(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant(w), Krunal Pandya, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, K Khaleel Ahmed
Rohit Sharma speaks:
"We would have bowled first as well considering the dew factor here. Our record chasing is good as well. Nevertheless, we want to change ourselves, that has been a concern over the overs. Batting first and defending it later. We have to win every game, we have to look forward to build a team. This gives us an opportunity to test out few players from the domestic circuit, they have done well. We have three spinners, two medium pacers and we have the debutant Shivam Dube who gives us the extra choice in the middle where he can bowl few overs.
"We are gonna bowl first. The wicket looks go, so we need to restrict them to as low as we can. It's a good opportunity for other guys in the team to step in Shakib and Tamim's absence."
