The youth side is scheduled to travel to England from June 24 to July 23 later this year for a multi-format series.
“The Junior Cricket Committee has picked India’s U19 for the upcoming tour of England, scheduled from June 24 to July 23, 2025. The tour comprises a 50-over warm-up match, followed by a five-match Youth One-Day series and two Multi-Day matches against England U19,” read the statement released by BCCI.
Mumbai sensation Ayush Mhatre, who was roped in by Chennai Super Kings midway during the Indian Premier League 2025, will lead the India youth side. Another Mumbai player, Abhigyan Kundu, has been named Mhatre’s deputy.
Bihar’s prodigy and Rajasthan Royals opener, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who lit up the IPL 2025 with a 35-ball hundred, has also been included in the squad. Vaibhav’s explosive batting was the talk of the town when he smashed the fastest century by an Indian in IPL against the Gujarat Titans. He also became the youngest centurion in the history of cricket in T20s.
Another prominent names are Punjab batter Vihaan Malhotra and Kerala leg-spinner Mohammed Enaan, both of whom shone during the Australia youth series, which was played in Chennai and Puducherry in 2024.
The India U-19 team, led by Mohamed Amaan, whitewashed Australia 3-0 in the youth ODI series. The two-match red-ball series also went India’s way, where MP’s Soham Patwardhan was the captain.
India Colts then played the youth Asia Cup, where they reached the finals before losing the title clash against Bangladesh.
