You are as good as your previous game. So goes the adage in cricket. And there is always a low after reaching the peak. This holds so true for MS Dhoni who in the last two years has seen both the phases. This was exactly two years ago in England when he won the Champion’s Trophy after beating the hosts in the final.
Fresh from the World Cup triumph, the victory was like icing on the cake. Dhoni was hailed as the captain with a Midas touch – a captain who leads from the front. And nothing could perhaps go wrong.
However, being on the pulpit of fame with many a great victories under his belt, the debacle in Bangladesh is a crude shock for Dhoni.
Knives are now out calling for his removal as captain of the team. He is in a bear pit, where angry fans, mediapersons and former players are questioning his captaincy and above all his place in the Indian side.
