England spinner Moeen Ali lashed out at airport authorities at the Birmingham Airport for their ‘joke’ of a stop lasting 40 minutes on his return from England’s runner-up showing at World Twenty20.

The Birmingham born player is of Pakistani origin and took to Twitter to complain of the alleged prejudice that he suffered alone but never when he’s with the England side.

The spinner found support in Owais Shah who replied, “your beard might have something to do with it.”

Also speaking in support was his team member Adil Rashid.

In response and on further probing, UK Border Force agents said it was because Ali had “exceeded his duty free allowance” something Ali confirmed as well – but not in a serious manner.
