CSK IPL 2026 Auction squad: Chennai Super Kings entered the mini-auction with the second biggest purse. (BCCI)
CSK Team 2026 Players List: Chennai Super Kings snapped up in-form Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan at base price of Rs 75 lakkh in the accelerated auction after he went unsold earlier in the day. CSK also went big for two uncapped players at the IPL mini auction in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Uttar Pradesh’s left-arm spin-bowling allrounder Prashant Veer was first brought on board for a whopping sum of Rs 14.2 crore from his base price of Rs 30 lakh. Veer, and his Uttar Pradesh teammate Sameer Rizvi, had recently clocked more than 5000 air miles, shuttling between Mumbai and Kolkata, playing in the U-23 State A Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. CSK then followed that up with another massive bid, pipping SRH and KKR to sign up promising 19-year-old Kartik Sharma, whose power-hitting for Rajasthan in domestic cricket caught attention recently.
After strangely not adding any marquee names available early on in the auction, Chennai Super Kings’ first signing at the mini auction in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday was West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein at a base price of Rs 2 crore. Hosein was part of SRH in IPL 2023, but played just one match. Later in the auction, CSK also signed up spinner Rahul Chahar for Rs 5.2 crore after a pretty intense bidding war with Punjab Kings.
The five-time champions Chennai Super Kings entered the mini-auction process that lists 369 cricketers with the second-highest purse, only behind Kolkata Knight Riders, with Rs 43.40 crore. In November, CSK had made the decision to release 12 players, including two high-profile names through trades to the Rajasthan Royals.

Securing their biggest-ever trade deal since the league’s inception by signing Sanju Samson, CSK let go of one of their most trusted lieutenants in Ravindra Jadeja, along side Sam Curran to the Royals. Stepping into a transition in what could be MS Dhoni’s last-ever appearance in the tournament, CSK have set up a squad stacked with batting firepower under captain Ruturaj Gaikwad while some interesting bowling acquisitions from previous years had been retained.
