CCI likely to host Windies warm-up game
The West Indies are to play two One-day warm-up games in Mumbai and one three-day game.
Cricket Club of India (CCI) is likely to get a warm-up game when West Indies travel to India in October. The CCI is the only voting member, whose support N Srinivasan can count on from the West Zone. According to BCCI sources, during the informal meeting held in Chennai few days ago, which was essentially a show of strength for Srinivasan, the CCI was assured of hosting the warm-up game.
“CCI will be hosting one warm-up game and they have been informally informed about this in the last meeting. During the last AGM, Srinivasan had made it clear that being a member of the board, CCI should be given games and as a result these warm-up games have been allotted to them.”
The West Indies are to play two One-day warm-up games in Mumbai and one three-day game. CCI president Sevanthilal Parekh said that there was no official communication yet about the Brabourne Stadium hosting the warm-up game. “We haven’t heard anything from BCCI till now but we were told earlier that we will be getting a few games,” Parekh said.
