India Board President’s XI vs South Africa Warm-up match Highlights: After day one was washed out because of rain, Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first in the warm-up game. Fast bowlers did the damage with the new ball. Umesh Yadav and Ishan Porel got the wickets of opener Dean Elgar and Theunis de Bruyn respectively. However, Aiden Markram continued his top form in red-ball cricket. Markram scored his second first-class century on the trot. He scored 100 runs from 118 deliveries including 18 fours and 2 sixes before retiring out.

Dharamsinh Jadeja got two wickets including Zubayr Hamza and skipper Faf du Plessis. Temba Bavuma continues his good form as well with a half-century. Bavuma is batting on 52 runs from 92 deliveries. South Africans were 199 for 4 at stumps. If rain does not play spoilsport on day three, we may get to see Rohit Sharma open before the first Test against South Africa starting October 4.

    Markram hopeful of a great Proteas show

Markram wasn't in the set-up last time around, but several members of the current touring party were part of the team that lost the Test series 3-0 four years ago.
