Tata Crucible, arguably India’s most prestigious business quiz, is back with its Campus Edition for 2024. Started over 20 years ago, it is hosted by veteran quizmaster Giri ‘Pickbrain’ Balasubramaniam, and will test India’s young minds on their consumer knowledge and marketing acumen.
This year’s quiz competition is split into two online prelim rounds, 24 cluster finals, eight zonal finals and one national final. Guidelines for the first prelims on Unstop, which opened on July 29, have been published on tatacrucible.com. It consists of 20 questions, each bearing a 30-second timer. Candidates are allowed one attempt each, with question sets being unique to every solver.
The second online round will be held for the top 200 scorers, out of which 100 spots will be reserved from all 24 clusters for female candidates. In total, 4800 quizzers will be selected for this round. There are eight zones, namely Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Mumbai; each zone is further divided into three clusters each.
Essential information
Eligibility: Full-time students aged 18 or above in any UG, degree or PG course across India. Junior college students are not eligible.
Registration Fees: None. Entry is free. All registered students will receive an email confirmation once their signup is verified.
Zones: Participants must choose their zone (and thus be allotted a cluster) based on their campus/college’s location, and not their place of residence.
Practice: Mock questions and moments from past editions are available on the contest’s social media pages and YouTube channel. The website also features a Mock Prelims link.
Prizes: This varies based on your final position:
- Winner: Internship with Tata Group, 2.5 lakh cash prize, Tata Crucible trophy and a luxury holiday experience at the Taj Hotels worth Rs 50,000
- Runners-up: Internships and Taj vouchers worth Rs 20,000 each
