India has given its verdict, and the mandate is clearly in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the man of the moment – Narendra Modi. Though the exit polls, that came just few days back, had predicted a victory for the party, most of them failed to measure the magnitude of this win.

Shattering records, Modi-led BJP routed the Congress-led UPA across the nation, registering the biggest ever win for any single party since 1984, when Rajiv Gandhi-led Congress was sent to Parliament with thumping majority.

According to the latest numbers, the BJP will settle at not less than 283 seats while the Congress is likely to be reduced under 50.
