While campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Sharad Pawar prophesied that within a couple of years “several regional parties will associate more closely with the Congress, or they may look at the option of merging with the Congress”.

He uttered these words in a late-night interview in Satara. When I asked him about his own party, the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), Pawar said he did not see any difference between it and the Congress.
