RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday walked out of Birsa Munda Central jail in Ranchi after the Supreme Court granted him bail in a case related to the infamous fodder scam.
Speaking to reporters,the former Railway minister made his priorities clear. “I am out of jail,thanks to the Supreme Court. I will work to keep the divisive forces out of power,” he said.
Lalu was convicted and sent to five years in jail in the fodder scam case which also forced him to vacate the Lok Sabha seat after the SC ruling on convicted lawmakers came into effect.
Pleading for bail,Prasad had submitted that of the 44 persons convicted along with him,37 have been granted bail and no one’s,except his bail plea has been rejected.
Looking set to jump on the election bandwagon,Lalu said he will work and unite all the like-minded parties to keep communal forces away from power.
