The Congress and the NCP finally resolved their deadlock over allocation of wards in the forthcoming polls for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation with the latter giving up its claim on five seats.
NCP had demanded ward number 50 in Goregaon currently held by Samir Desai,nephew of former union minister Gurudas Kamat,56(Versova),94(Bandra West),175(Dharavi)and 143(Chembur).
Out of 36 blocks in Mumbai,NCP has failed to get representation in four blocks. The party had sought representation in all the blocks.
Congress is contesting 169 seats leaving 58 for the NCP. The 227 premier civic body in the country goes to polls on February 16.
