Amit Shah said that if the state government is found to be involved in any “anti-national” activity, the BJP will not hesitate in withdrawing its support.
BJP chief Amit Shah on Sunday told the RSS that the decision to form the government with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir was “taken in a hurry” but there was no need to snap ties in haste over the the controversy related to the release of Hurriyat hardliner Masarat Alam.
But he promised delegates at the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha in Nagpur that if the state government is found to be involved in any “anti-national” activity, the BJP will not hesitate in withdrawing its support.
Making a five-minute presentation about the BJP on the last day of the RSS meet, Shah reportedly said, “Sarkar banane ka nirnay jaldbaaji me liya gaya. Lekin samarthan wapsi ki jaldbaaji ki jaroorat nahi hai (The decision to form alliance government was taken in hurry but there is no need to withdraw support in haste).”

Sources present at the meeting said that Shah added, “Lekin agar sarkar koi rashtravirodhi karya karti hai to hamein samarthan wapas lene me koi sankoch nahi hoga (but if the government does any anti-national work, BJP will not hesitate to withdraw its support).”
Shah made these comments as during an informal chat several delegates discussed the state government’s decision to release Alam.
Sources said that Shah mentioned “injustice” with Jammu and Ladakh regions, and specially mentioned the problems faced by Kashmiri Pandits. He said his party’s effort is to do some good work in these regions.
The sources said Shah said that nobody should doubt the intention of central government. “Humare upar koi shanka karne ki jaroorat nahi hai. Hum aapki ummedon par khare utrenge (Have faith in us, we will live up to your expectations).”
Shah claimed that the BJP’s membership has reached 7.04 crore and its target is to make it 10 crore. He said the party has the highest number of MPs and MLAs in the country and to retain its membership the party would launch a massive campaign shortly.
