Monsoon is hard on everyone’s skin, especially babies. According to dermatologist Aanchal Panth, during this season, kids tend to develop fungal infections, so taking care of the skin is important. Sweat dermatitis can also be seen due to excessive sweat logging.

Dr Gauri Padmawar, Dermatologist at Ruby Hall Clinic, recommended avoiding standing in direct sunlight with your baby and smartly dressing them so that they feel well-ventilated. “Keep them well hydrated and use plenty of baby-safe sunscreen,” she said.

Panth advised against bathing them with hot water as that can strip their skin off its natural oils, instead use lukewarm water. She also suggested using thin clean cotton towels to wipe. “Dab, don’t rub.”
