The arrest of Dhirendra Brahmachari is on the cards. The police are waiting for Brahmachari to come and if he does not do so in the next couple of days, a police party would be dispatched to arrest him.

Lok Sabha Walk-out
The recent raid on Swami Dhirendra Brahmachari’s gun factory in Jammu and Kashmir had its echo in the Lok Sabha when the Opposition clashed with the Speaker and eventually staged a walk-out when he turned down their demand for an immediate debate on the issue. The Opposition made a vain bid to elicit information from the government on the circumstances which led to the grant of a licence to the controversial Brahmachari to manufacture firearms.
No Nukes, Says India
India is likely to ask the Commonwealth heads of government to support a call for serious negotiations on nuclear disarmament and steps for an equitable international economic order. Threats to world peace in different parts of the world, including West Asia and the nuclear theatre in Europe, appeared to be assuming considerable importance.
SBI Guard Shot
Six Sikh youths fired at the Ambassador car of the State Bank of India branch in Lopoke, 40 km from Amritsar, fatally wounding a guard of the bank. According to the police, while the bank car carrying money and some of its employees reached the canal and was negotiating a curb, the miscreants stopped the car. Sensing mischief, the driver, however, drove away in spite of a hail of bullets shot at the car.
