Tokyo Olympics 2020 Medal Tally: The 2021 Olympics came to a conclusion after the coronavirus pandemic forced the Tokyo Games to be pushed back by one year. As the final medal tally shaped up Japan had its best Olympic production in every category: the most gold medals (27), the most overall (58), and a third-place finish in gold medals behind two much larger countries — the United States and China.

For India, it was the highest return since the 2012 London Games with seven medals. Neeraj Chopra secured India’s second individual gold in Olympic history with a sensational throw of 87.58m in the men’s javelin final at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
